I recently heard Dr. Robert T. Pennock lecture at my monthly meeting of Southeast Michigan Mensa, where I bought his book, "Tower of Babel," subtitled "The Evidence against the New Creationism," and I am now in the process of reading it. It is published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I must say that it is difficult to put down.

Anybody who buys the book ought to have a decent dictionary nearby because of some of the excellent words which he uses throughout the book. He is thorough in his approach and really covers the subject of the Creationist and Intelligent Design pseudo-arguments, discusses their agenda to replace the sciences in the public schools in the United States, and the tactics used by these groups. So far, their tactics have been unsuccessful in the courts, but you never know. If you want to know the tactics being used by Creationists and IDers, it is the book to read.

Now, to go back to continue reading. I thought that some of the writers here would enjoy reading it. Remember -- do not forget your dictionaries...

O.K. O.K. Now I have finished Dr. Pennock's *Tower of Babel.* It was difficult to put down and I gave up most computer time to finish it. It is a great book. I firmly suggest it. It is thorough, scholarly, and well documented. I think that stopping the tricky Intelligent Design brigade is of first importance, and Dr. Pennock is the person to do it. I would hate for the United States to dumb its science education down any further with this stupid *Intelligent Design* stuff. The Creationists keep trying and keep changing their methods. Now they have gone back to the *A watch implies a watchmaker* stuff. However, baloney is baloney no matter how you spell it. Intelligent Design is a slick attempt to get Creationism into the school systems of our country. Serious science is going to be out of the question in American schools if the Creationists (under any slick camoflauge) keep this up.
