Excellent! ! ! Good ridance to a pathetic fraud. Now only XXXXX number of 'em to go.

January 6, 2004 -- UNIVERSAL has cancelled the syndicated version of "Crossing Over with John Edward" after three low-rated seasons.

Says to me that the show is still running, with no end in sight, on the Sci-Fi Channel. It's just the syndication to other networks that's been axed. Half-marks. |

Nonetheless, it's still good news. It always bothered me that mainstream media outlets gave that shitbird a sense of legitimacy. Perhaps folks are finally catching on... |

Well, I did give them half-marks for killing the syndication, didn't I?
Actually, the fact that NBC put the kibosh on James van Praugh's show before it even aired says that some of the people in the mainstream are, indeed, catching on. |

Don't you think, (not you personally Paladin, but people who think Edwards is a fraud,) there's some enterainment value in the show. Like people who watch Jerry Springer, who really cares about those low lives who are on the show. Or the so called reality shows, Survivor or Fear Factor, those shows are nonsense, I've never watched them but they are popular. Who cares if someone eats a bug (I think, from the commericals that's what they show people doing). But people watch them, I guess??? for some kind of entertainment. So why not watch a person who thinks they are talking to the dead? It's funny!

Edwards of course doesn't think he is talking to the dead. He knows that he has become a millionare by by taking advantage of peoples grief. He makes someones sadness and loss a side show. The man is the lowest form of slime mold (sorry for disparaging slime mold). |
If I knew then what I know now then I would know more now than I know. |

Yes, of course. But Jerry Springer takes advantage of morons who want their 15 mins. of 'fame'. Fear Factor degrades people into doing disgusting things. I happen to like pornography but some say people are lured into that and live sad lives because of that. It's all a side show. Why pick on him? People go on his show by their choice, for the same reasons all of the above do what ever it is they do. Just by taking the show off the air, you can't stop people from being idiots. Excuse me.....from believing or doing what they want. Since people are going to do it anyway, why not let others be entertained by it? |

Let's put it in perspective. This scoundrel is no more than just another grifter and worthy of no more than contempt. My knuckles itch every time I hear his name.
Merely because a horrid percentage of the world's population can't or won't think criticly, doesn't give license to rip them off. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that Edward gets some seven hundred sheckles for a private spirit-bullshit-summoning, and his show is little more than advertising. Considering his popularity among the impressionable, this amounts to theft on a truly grand scale. Entertainment, my ass!
Damn! Why can't I come up with something as lucrative?

Well, since you put it that way it makes sense.

I think you do have a gold mine. Snakes! Rent them out to that church of snake handlers. Or you could get something going for people who think snake are magical spirits, snake charmming or something. Start a cult. Filthy, can you play a flute? Do you look good in a turban? |
