quote:
George Dubya
"If Senator Kerry had his way... Saddam Hussein would still be in power. He would control those all of those weapons and explosives and could share them with his terrorist friends. Now the senator is making wild charges about missing explosives, when his top foreign policy adviser admits, quote, 'We do not know the facts.' Think about that: The senator is denigrating the actions of our troops and commanders in the field without knowing the facts..."

"Our military is now investigating a number of possible scenarios, including that the explosives may have been moved before our troops even arrived at the site. This investigation is important and it's ongoing. And a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief."

Now this bit bears repeating even considering the source, especially so. "And a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commander in chief." !?! As opposed to our 'commander-in-chief,' who did exactly that about WMD's and terrorist connections, and proceed to lead this country into an ill advised war in Iraq..? Well, am forced to agree, Dubya isn't a person I want as my 'commander-in-chief.'

LOL At least there's someone else that agrees with my POV; http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=205847

What it boils down to is, which one would you rather follow into battle? Or more to the point, which would you rather lead into battle?

Considering their histories, the choice shouldn't require a whole lot of thought.

I can imagine a lot of people would be not only willing but also eager to follow Dubya.
After all considering his history you could be pretty certain that he would lead you in the opposite direction and let other people fight the battle.

C'mon. The guy hugged a fireman. He HUGGED A FIREMAN. And used a bullhorn in a real cool way.

Now, that's a leader.

Damn, Gorgo, I just sprayed Diet Pepsi on my keyboard.

We gotta think up a warning signal so that this doesn't happen as often.

I couldn't get over this when I heard it on NPR last night. Bush said,
A president needs to get all the facts before jumping to politically motivated conclusions.
In other words, it's okay to "jump to politically motivated conclusions," and it's okay to ignore the facts, just so long as you're got them all.

Holy shit! That's hilarious. One question left unanswered is if it's OK to jump to non-politically motivated conclusions with only half the facts...

Yeah, Cuneiformist, you're right. Although it's obvious that Bush meant to say,
A president needs to get all the facts [instead of] jumping to politically motivated conclusions.
The slip-up leaves lots of openings.

Speaking of slip-ups, as I began my commute home from work, NPR's All Things Considered, I heard a story on Bush and Kerry in which I heard a sound-bite from Bush which seemed odd, to say the least. But, there was road noise, and I wasn't sure what he said. Now I am. In this story, they play what he said shortly after the "confetti cannon" blast which got people jumpy. Speaking of September 11th, 2001:
My determination has not faded since that day. My determination is wrong - strong.
Although I'm sure I would have been goofing up words as well: Georgie, your Freudian slip is showing.

Dave, I think you simply misunderestimate the man.

(Something which the President claims his opponents often do.)

"A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true he generally believes to be true." --Demosthenes

"The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool." --Richard P. Feynman
