There are several Skeptic Friends with experience from various forces, including me, but I know of none with actual combat experience.

I don't know what 'onomatopeical' means, but in 'Nam I was a river rat, assigned to a diver's barge. Whilst I didn't pick up any shrapnel myself -- my injuries were somewhat different, I saw others get some. It really is a bad prescription.

Missed the spelling there...
Onomatopoeic means "word that sounds like the thing it is describing", like 'bang' and 'fizz' and 'gong'.

Not to change the subject from religion, but Bill is a very warped thinker in his own right. We have a thread over at JREF discussing Maher's misconceptions about how the immune system works. He thinks we don't need vaccines and all our health problems are due to corporate polluters.

I was quite shocked to learn he was that dumb. I thought he was intelligent enough to have some political insights but after reading transcripts of his medical beliefs, I have reevaluated my opinion. Maybe this explains why he thinks Miss Righty Dighty, Ann Coulter, is admirable.

There has been proof that vaccines have caused a few problems in their efforts to help. I think we should have vaccinations for things like Polio and others but not so young. If there is a chance to let the child grow alittle bit before you pump him full of chemicals. With all the cancer we have today that might be mostly enviromental...

Verlch, just which 'problems' caused by vaccines are greater in either number or severity than the 'problems' caused by the diseases the vaccines prevent?

And why would you want to wait to protect infants and young children from diseases that kill and disable infants and young children? Are you suggesting those little things we are pumping full of vaccines are somehow not going to be at risk of nature pumping them full of bacteria and viruses?

And as a side note, while environmental toxins might be responsible for some cancers, so are viruses responsible for some cancers. I am not aware of a single vaccine that has been suggested as a source of cancer. In fact, the hepatitis B virus that the vaccine prevents is the leading cause of primary liver cancer in the world. So that vaccine prevents cancer.

Good thing most innoculations do not involve "chemicals," but antibodies.

Actually, that would be antigens. Antibodies would be the things our bodies make in response to the antigens. Though we can give antibodies when needed and available such as immune globulins.
