I have done nothing and the session problem still exists, but AOL caches everything and that is possibly why you can still navigate. I still can't do anything
It won't be long now one way or the other. Even if this is fixed tomorrow I am moving everything the first of January to a location where I can fix things myself and don't call a tech line that rings and rings and rings....

A big thanks to @tomic for his fantastic efforts in what must be a difficult period......

I was able to get to the posts with polls by clicking on the "View Polls" option at the top, and then the "See Thread" selection on each poll. At least we can catch up on those. . . .

I just noticed in active users that someone physically on the server was browsing SFN. It will be interesting to see if things are fixed.

I just got this in an e-mail:
How to Please Your I.T. Department:
1. When you call us to have your computer moved, be sure to leave it buried under half a ton of postcards, baby pictures, stuffed animals, dried flowers, bowling trophies and children's art. We don't have a life, and we find it deeply moving to catch a fleeting glimpse of yours.
2. Don't write anything down. Ever. We can play back the error messages from here.
3. When I.T. support sends you an E-Mail with high importance, delete it at once. We're just testing.
4. When the photocopier doesn't work, call computer support. There's electronics in it.
5. When the printer won't print, re-send the job at least 20 times. Print jobs frequently get sucked into black holes.
6. Don't learn the proper term for anything technical. We know exactly what you mean by "My thingy blew up".
7. When an I.T. person says he's coming right over, go for coffee. That way you won't be there when we need your password. It's nothing for us to remember 700 screen saver passwords.
8. Don't use on-line help. On-line help is for wimps.

For what it's worth, I can independently verify that the AOL browser does indeed work nearly normally with the forum, as Snake has indicated
There's your answer Valiant. So all you people who accuse AOL of being terrible and inafective as a server...Eat Your Words. I don't know much about computers and now I'm glad of it, not that I wasn't before. But sometimes it pays to not be such a smart ass about something. AOL forever!!!

I'll Have to try my wife's computer, she uses AOL because of it's simplicity. This is getting frustrating, not being able to read the message boards. I hope this does not last for too much longer.

Yay!! I can browse the complete site now.
Thanks a lot Snake for the tip.
Now all we have to do is get everyone else hooked up to AOL so that the posting can continue. I can browse the boards, but there is hardly any new posts.

Man, I have received several emails over the last couple days saying that technicians are working on it but guess what??? That's right it's still broken. By my estimation it should take no more than 5 whole minutes to fix if the technicians know what they're doing. Imagine my confidence in the company!

Can just get into the "featured topic" on the home page. By luck, this one came up, today. At least know its not just me, and will not join AOL, as much as me misses SFN... Perhaps this is just god's way of saying, "Naughty naughty." Repent, the end is near!

Is that plus or minus the LSD and coke breaks? So glad your customer disservice department couldn't find their ass with both hands, a map, and a guide. This is soooooooo frustrating for me. I can only imagine how much worse it must be for you.

Maybe between the two of us and Lisa or who ever else IS on AOL, we should go into each folder every day and just post a word, anything, so people can get to them from the front page of SFN. BTW, I don't care for pretentious, snoby people, I grew up with the kind. Anyone who doesn't like AOL because they think surfing the web on it is no good, doesn't know what they are missing. Not meant to be personal to you Rick, others are just to pig headed to admite there is nothing wrong with AOL. So THERE!

While hooked up to AOL you do not have to use the AOL software. Internet explorer can still be used. At this time however, you must use AOL software in order to view this site.
