Came across this while looking for something completely different: These "costume masks" marketed to fundamentalist's "drama ministry or children's ministry" are racial stereotypes.

Don't know anything about this and the other links appear dead so maybe they're out of business or just reply on faith (or devotee's contributions) to maintain their website.
Also from the text:
"Long, curled up nose, black straight hair, head scarf which makes her perfect for a zany Bible character." How about those zany Bible characters eh?
But the real point of this post is: They probably believe they are teaching goodness and love, but they just don't get it, do they?

I thought that was provided with the "Bashfool" and "Ms. Bashfool" masks. Get it-- "zany Bible character"? That's code for Israelite! And look at them! They've got it all-- two African/Afro-Americans, and Asian (complete with goofy nerd glasses-- where's his camera?), and the "zany" Jews with their big noses. Great to teach good Christian boys and girls that non-white, non-Christians should be laughed at. That is, unless you find the first mask too creepy to be humorous like I do... |

Cuneiformist: I think the "Bashfools" are supposed to laughable idiots, representing the slap-happy mentally handicapped. They do not appear sly or hook-nosed, as a good Semitic caricature would require. (Or, alternatively, perhaps they are idealized representations of that church's average parishoners?)
Chippewa: The "Biblical" puppets all seem to be deliberately cute and more Nordic than Semitic, aside from hair colors. (After all, "Christian Identity" fundies consider Christ and the "real" Hebrews to have been Aryan.) And where's the bright red, savage Indian, grinning in brutal blood lust as he considers adjusting the payout rate of his casino's slots?
These guys are pikers, afraid to go all the way.

This site is incredible. The racist masks are atrocious, but the jaw-droppers go even beyond the puppets. There's the Christian Armor of God Flannel teaching kit: http://www.letusteachkids.com/curriculum/army/visuals.htm (note "H.I.S. Army" across the top - I don't even want to know what it stands for).
And, because correct spelling isn't one of the Ten Commandments, there's this teaching kit, which uses "Lawz" and "Kidz" interchangeably with the secular spellings in the marketing material and packaging:
