I saw that this question was addressed in the last chat, but what's going on with the quote function? It seems that after I close the quote, my subsequent comments still appear in the smaller font.

I generally use Firefox (v 1.5.0.4), and perhaps it's a browser problem, but I wanted to ask if I'm the only one seeing this.

It seems to be related to Mozilla-based browsers (I've never seen it happen with Internet Explorer), and it seems to be related to quotes within quotes.

I, for one, would appreciate links to example posts in which the problem occurs, along with browser information.

That seems to be the case. As for links, try this. The first post, by furshur is all small. The next one, but Michael, is normal until he quotes a quote-- then the rest of the post is small. And so on.

As for browser info, I generally use my own machine which, as I noted above, runs Firefox. In the Help, About section, I got this:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4

In Firefox, every single line appears as the quote size text, small. In IE, 4, 6, and 10 all appear as the correct size.

I'll second Ricky's observation, at least as far as Firfox is concerned...

Camino too, which is also Mozzila based...

Single level quotes:
quote:
Level1

This text should be (and I'm suspecting is, for everyone) "normal".

Quoted quotes:
quote:
Level1
quote:
Level2

This text should be normal, but won't be for Mozilla based browsers. Am I psychic or what? OK, what.

It would seem that using some extra tags correctly doesn't correct the problem. All text between the nested quotes and the end of the post remains small.

How about after that, no?

What about after this?

No?
Or after this?

Too bad. I suppose that the "size" tag could be used, assuming there's a size value that is equivalent to "normal" post text, but it's a bit of a kludge.

Does this look "normal" to everyone? (it's at [size=2])

John's just this guy, you know.

Yeah, that one looks normal using Camino.

Let's just check nested font sizes:
size=1
Back to normal (1)
size=2
Back to normal (2)
size=3
Back to normal (3)
size=1 with size=3 inside the size=1 tags and back to size=1
Back to normal (4)
this is size=2 for legibility, but does anyone with Mozilla see screwed up stuff, and where is it?
Back to normal (5)

For people who see the font size problem, does the text go back to normal at the start of the next post on the same page?

Not sure if this has anything to do with anything, but sometimes when posting my font size would appear really tiny. I'd open the post to see what's going on, see nothing, then resave it and the text would magically fix itself. Other times I could just refresh the screen and the font would "pop" back to normal size. This may not always work, however.

Mmm, Ricky's multiple quotes look normal to me, and I'm on Firefox.

No problems with your two posts on Firefox, Dave.
