This is from an AP story at CNN. Not only did President Bush authorize the most massive illegal spying upon Americans in history, but now it comes out that he has blocked his own Justice Department from even investigating the felony.

Bush has essentially classified his own crime as Top Secret:

Attorney General: Bush blocked eavesdropping probe

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush personally blocked a Justice Department investigation of the anti-terror eavesdropping program that intercepts Americans' international calls and e-mails, administration officials said Tuesday.

Bush refused to grant security clearances for department investigators who were looking into the role Justice lawyers played in crafting the program, under which the National Security Agency listens in on telephone calls and reads e-mail without court approval, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales told the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Without access to the sensitive program, the department's Office of Professional Responsibility closed its investigation in April.

So much for checks and balances.

Our president is a traitor.

Presicely true. He took an oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States, but he's deliberately mutilated the document. This man and all his cronies needs to be thrown out of office and into prison.

And we all know how consistent this White House is in guarding national security secrets from being released to the media, right? If in doubt, just ask Valerie Plame, an active CIA agent outed by the Bush White House in order to attack her husband for criticising one of Bush's justifications for the Iraq invasion.

Bush is much better at "kill the messenger" operations against those who expose his Orwellian tactics, than at catching Bin Laden and our country's real 9/11 enemies.
