Americans who question evolution are testing a new tactic in Ohio, arguing that schools should be required to discuss all controversial issues from creation to stem cell research and global warming.

In what critics on Wednesday called a new attempt to bring religion into the classroom, the Ohio State Board of Education will consider a proposal next week that would oblige schools to teach critical thinking in all subjects.

Emphasis mine. It appears the creationists are now attempting to re-define critical thinking to mean that you look at any and all "theories", no matter what kind of merit they have.

I still don't think FSM will be taught though.

Fine, let them start a class called critical thinking and talk about those subjects. Make it a science class with an actuall science teacher...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

From the Karl Rove Playbook, take what they attack you with and use it against them, truth not necessary.

Tactic #2: Attack Your Opponent's Strengths
Tactic #3: Accuse Your Opponent of What He/She is Going to Accuse You Of

Found this great website looking for the playbook.

I think Kil has the right idea: Welcome classes teaching critical thinking, but make sure that's what's being taught, not religion. Bring in recognized national and international stars of critical thinking to suggest a curriculum. Thus co-opt the fundies' attempt at co-option.
