Sometimes the stupidity of men really astounds me.

Here we have a prime candidate for a Darwin Award.
Sooner or later, I believe he will collect it.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/wear/6132140.stm

quote:
A man suffered internal burns when he tried to launch a rocket from his bottom on Bonfire Night.
Paramedics found the 22-year-old bleeding, with a Black Cat Thunderbolt Rocket lodged inside him, when they attended the scene in Sunderland.

He suffered a scorched colon and is now recovering in hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said the prank could have been fatal.

Douglas McDougal, from the NEAS, said: "We received a call stating there was a male who had a firework in his bottom and it was bleeding.

"He sustained fairly significant injuries in the fact that there's huge damage to that particular area."

Daily Mail also has the video recorded on a mobil phone by one of this guy's friends.

Article, with link to video.

This one makes me shudder, not grin. Note the guy was an Iraq veteran. Was he just drunk and stupid? Is it possible he was doing a version of shooting himself in the foot, to keep from being redeployed? Or was he simply half-mad from post-traumatic shock? Was it all of these put together?

So, cramming explosives up your ass, then lighting them off, can actually be dangerous, eh? Yeah, you learn something new every day. Good thing there are experts to advise us.

Well, being a skeptic I didn't accept that advise until there was evidence. And now we have it. Thanks Exploded-Colon Man!

I'm sure glad the science is in on this. No need for me to try the experiment for myself. Now I can pull out those M-80's and sit more comfortably.

I'm sure he'll never do THAT again...
But I cannot believe I have to say 'again'
Someone actually thought sticking explosives up their arse was a good idea, a non-health hazard if you will.
lmfao
I'll get started on his Darwin Award NOW

Kind of makes one wonder what the guy's idea of a successful firing of the rocket would have been. Did he expect to fly?

That's why I didn't put it in the humour-folder.

I've always maintained that anyone is capable of doing something stupid (and either has or will). But man, there really are levels of stupidity! Maybe this is his warm up to a Darwin Award after all.
