Interesting article in New Scientist:

Just click on the topics (in bold type) and then the name of the writers to read their predictions for the next 50 years. Yes, it's a novelty article, but fun. The predictions sound informed but of course are open to further speculation.

We puny humans use new technology to make the same grave and stupid mistakes of the past.

Smart people recognize subtlies that become trends that herald the beginning phases of those repeated mistakes because they study history.

That pretty much sums up the approaches of the smart people whose names I recognize in the articles.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

"TAX AND SPEND" IS GOOD! (TAX: Wealthy corporations who won't go poor even after taxes. SPEND: On public works programs, education, the environment, improvements.)
