Hägar the Horrible's duck, Kvack found in precambrian deposit

Hempstead, New York, December 26, 2006 (SN) -- Dr. Sam Weisenheimer is a haunted man these days. The Hofstra University paleontologist recently discovered the so-called "Devonian Bunny," a fossil that has destroyed long-established geological chronologies, and utterly refuted the Theory of Evolution.

Kvack, Hägar the Horrible's duck (Pseudoanas dikbrowneii).

"Now this," said Weisenheimer, alternately crying, giggling, and cursing. "I was just beginning to work on a revised geological chronology consistent with the Devonian Bunny, when this damned fossil pops up. First, the Bunny wrecks evolution and sets geology back two hundred years, now this thing... this thing tosses all science and even rationality itself out the door."

Dr. Weisenheimer paused to wail, sob, and pull out his hair for about ten minutes, then continued, a hint of dangerous hysterical giggle creeping into his voice. "Just look at this beauty! Instead of hard tissue like bone or shell being preserved, we see cartoonist Dik Browne's penned outlines, instead! The Devonian Bunny was making me seriously consider worshipping the Judaic God. But this thing -- no sane God would allow such a monstrosity of unreason to exist!"

Biology is just physics that has begun to smell bad.” —HalfMooner
