I had never heard that. Kind of sad.....

OK, not to jump OT because I have to do someresearch first, and not to cliam this as a "falsie", but....

I have long been leary of anything seen in wikipedia, especially without cites. Wikiality was a pretty good surmation of my thought on it. Add on top of that the recent false entries and hack attacks......

Where is wikipedia to go if it is to remain open?
If they start to close it, on what criteria will specialists be selected. Pretty easy for say baseball..... but what about things that are highly interperative and/or theoretical....

More later in it's own thread.....

Peace
Joe

Some are already trying to do something about it-- one of the Wiki founders is trying to start something similar, Citizendium, where "gentle expert oversight" will, perhaps, add more reliablility to the project...

Definitly a start. It would be great if the experts in various fields would get off of their collective greedy butts and contribute to it.

Thanks for the link!

Peace
Joe

What's sad about it?

One more thing that wasn't taught corretly. I am going to have to hunt up my old sheet music to see who they attribute the music to.

I'm sure you meant to quote the link I provided to the Smithsonian, but to be honest, I just clicked the Smithsonian link in the "External Links" section at the bottom of the Wiki page I linked to first (the one you quoted), looked around a little, and picked a page which said more-or-less what the Wiki page said.
