To think I used to like and respect this guy....

From the July 23 edition of CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck:

STEIN: I want -- I'm glad you brought up this Denver thing. I don't like the idea of Senator Obama giving his acceptance speech in front of 75,000 wildly cheering people. That is not the way we do things in political parties in the United States of America. We have a contained number of people in an arena. Seventy-five-thousand people at an outdoor sports palace, well, that's something the Fuehrer would have done. And I think whoever is advising Senator Obama to do this is bringing up all kinds of very unfortunate images from the past.

BECK: Well, yeah, you know what? I've been -- I've been saying that we're headed towards a Mussolini-style presidency forever.

STEIN: Well, I think --

BECK: I mean it's crazy.

STEIN: It's a scary situation. I mean, I think he has to recognize some bounds on his own ego. I understand politicians are politicians because they have ego deficit problems and they try to cure them by having lots of worship and adulation and adoration. But 75,000 people screaming at an outdoor arena, that's just too much. It's just -- it's scarily authoritarian.

I guess anything that Ben Stein doesn't like will be compared to Hitler, from now on.

And did you see the table he ate lunch at? Surely it was a table fit for a Khan.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

The Rethugs are rolling out every feces ballista in their vast sewer of fithy fighting tactics to try and boost Doddering John's lousy political performances. Stein has obviously been bought and paid for by the Grand Obliquity Party, and is showing an ever higher profile as not only a spokesman for rampant religious rancidity, but also for the other, political, side of that coin, the Religious Right, whom McCain is desperately trying to fellate into a dependable part of his fragile "base".

Stein is just another well-paid Republican whore like Dennis Miller, Ann Coulter and the panoply of Fox News talking heads (used in the Naval definition) that spew their political venom all over the landscape like the geysers in Yellowstone.

Beck is also.

McCain is on a downward doddering slide and his snarky lackeys even have the gall to criticize Obama for visiting the holocaust museum in Israel.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

Actually, filthy fighting tactics are the safest and therefore the best kind. Shoot 'em in the back, then spit on their corpses!

Hey, worked for Bush, didn't it?

But, while I make no predictions, I'm not sure it'll work this time. Bush is an idiot, everyone knows it, and only the greedy and the brain-dead want an encore.
On the July 23 edition of CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck, guest Ben Stein, while discussing Sen. Barack Obama's plan to deliver his speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination at Denver's Invesco Field, stated that he did not "like the idea of Senator Obama giving his acceptance speech in front of 75,000 wildly cheering people" because "[t]hat is not the way we do things in political parties in the United States of America." Stein continued: "Seventy-five-thousand people at an outdoor sports palace, well, that's something the Fuehrer would have done. And I think whoever is advising Senator Obama to do this is bringing up all kinds of very unfortunate images from the past."
How wonderful it is that stupidity is not limited to any demographic. A Jew can be as fully a buffoon as any Anglo-Saxon, and Stein&Beck prove it nicely. In fact, they've been proving it seperatly for quite some time, now -- it's great to see them buffooning as a tag team.

Stein's just pissed that Obama can fill such a stadium with ease, but McCain would be hard-pressed to bring out much more than the far right-wing, reliwhackos, corporate pimps, and dimwits who can't learn from even the most recent past.

Sure, why not?

Prominent neoconservative periodicals are Commentary and The Weekly Standard. Neoconservatives are associated with foreign policy initiatives of think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), The Heritage Foundation, and the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA).

On the whole, I would argue that as a non proselytizing religion (which is important) and a block that still votes heavily Democratic, and as a religion that has always placed a high value on education, they are at least a few rungs down on the psychotic ladder when compared with most other western organized religions. Even the most orthodox rabbi's do not hold their congregations in line with threats of hellfire and damnation.

Still, No one faith has cornered the market on dangerously extreme nutballs. And it may be worth pointing out that Christopher Hitchens, clearly an atheist, is also off the rails when it comes to American foreign policy to the tune of Neocon proportions.

There are some crazy fundamentalist Jews out there, they are outnumbered by "normal" Jews though.

Which isn't really the case with christians. The crazy fuckers are the majority, often hiding behind a veneer or normalcy.

Well, bngbuck, here's another example of religionazis shooting off more "feces" from their ballistas...though the original link doesn't seem to work anymore...

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Look what you've done: Made me read som Rapture Ready threads. Yuck... I feel violated. I think I need a shower...

Anyway, the original post by "Saved by Grace" was most probably removed by the admins of RR-BB, because it violated one of the many (30+) Rules and Guidelines for posting.

Been giving it a little thought and have come to the conclusion that Ben Stein is not the world's biggest douchbag at all, and calling him that lowers douchbag standards appreciably.

Rather than the world's biggest, as he is no more than a sycophant of Creationist super-sloppy douchbags, his douchbag stature is greatly reduced even unto the status of recall-for-out-of-date douchbag.

He's a minor douchbag at best, and scarcely able to do even that job with any credibility.

Just thought I'd clear up the misconsception...

He is a tiny douchebag of remote importance but, in my opinion, one of disturbing filthyness (not offense to Filthy).

It saddened me to no bound to see the terrible tragedy of 6 millions deaths reduced to a band-aid on Ben Stein's argumentive sortcoming.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

"Douche bag" has a good ring to it, but really, why is it such an insulting term?

Now "enema bag", there's a derogatory term with bigger volume to it. (Or "behind" it - heh.)

And couldn't a small one, of whichever bag, be called a "squirt"?
