There is actually a fourth instalment of this epic saga being filmed. If you don't ask me how I know this, I won't have to tell you.

You mean aside from the Hillary Swank POS?
If you don't ask me how I know this, I won't have to tell you.
Tease.

I went to IMDB and looked it up, though. They're remaking the original, setting it in China, with Jackie Chan in the Mr. Miyagi role. Due for release in June, 2010.

"Tron Legacy" (Tron II) release, in 3D no less, has been pushed way up to December 17, 2010. (I hope its worth the wait.)

It was particularly sunny and warm that summer in the late 1980'S along the border between northernmost Norway and Soviet Russia.

The political boundary between NATO's Norway and the Warsaw Pact's Soviet Union was militarized, yet a few individuals wandered freely back and forth across it with nothing but a nod from guards on either side.

Rudolf Erickson and Vladimir Bulganin were two such people. Rudolf was a successful reindeer meat trader who owned a fine log home just on the Norwegian side of the border. Vladimir was a well educated Soviet meteorologist and Party member who operated a weather station a few meters away on the Russian side.

Typically, Vladimir would pick up a couple of bottles of vodka after a day's work and walk across the border to visit Rudolf and his wife, Olga. Olga and Rudolf would roast some venison steaks and provide other Norwegian dishes. After eating, the three would settle into drinking vodka and a convivial chat.

These chats were usually convivial, that is. Though both Rudolf and Vladimir were loyal supporters of their respective governments, by silent agreement they never discussed Cold War politics. But one evening Rudolf looked out the window and then made the following comment:

"The Northern Lights are especially blue tonight. So it is certainly going to rain heavily tomorrow."

"Nyet!," replied the Soviet scientist. "The aurora borealis has no known relationship to the weather. Also, a strong high pressure area is moving into this region. It will be cloudless and sunny tomorrow!"

"You Communists are so full of crap," Rudolf rejoined. "'Scientific Socialism,' my ass! Ja, tomorrow it rains for sure!"

Both men, already red-faced from vodka, stood up. They likely would have come to blows over this petty issue, but fortunately Olga intervened as a peacemaker.

"Rudolf," Olga said, "the Red knows rain, Dear!"

mooner........

OH.......MY........GOD....!!!

Residence in the heady, tropical Phillipines has obviously destroyed any semblance of shaggydog restraint that might have remained in your twisted psyche, mooner. Shame!

I am a collector and connoisseur of shaggydogs, and this is the best I have heard in several years! Thanks, mooner It will be retold!

Reminds me of the Texas rancher that inbred a strain of Angus cattle to achieve miniaturization. Finally, he produced cows that were only six inches long and about two and a half inches tall. However, they were infertile, and only radiation by cosmic rays could destroy the genetic deficit that was causing their infertility.

The rancher contacted NASA and made arrangements to put a dozen of the tiny animals in a special orbiting space vehicle with the cosmic ray shielding removed, so the group of critters would receive a measured dose of cosmic ray irradiation.

The rocket was launched and the project was formally recorded by a NASA historian who wrote a famous description of the project that has lived in History ever since - he titled his essay The Herd that was Shot Around the World.

Speaking of NASA, has anyone read about the program to bring $100 computers to poor bush children in Africa? When I read about it I wondered how would that improve their lives? Knowing that a computer is limited if there is no internet connection or NO ELECTRICITY!!! Well! Not spending to much time on bringing this really great idea to reality, they apparently figured those out and they delivered some computers. Here is a conversation between an African bush kid and an American girl on his new computer. This brings up the thought. Do these kids really need a computer and learn so much, at such an early age? Thanks, for the praise, Bill. It's undeserved. All I did was to remember a punchline from about sixty years ago, and then reconstruct a plausible set-up story onto which to append it.

Thanks for your own shaggy! Some of the shaggiest I've ever encountered were the so-called "Feghoots". I would often buy the latest issue of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction just to discover what new outrage "Grendel Briarton" had committed.

The CEOs of four major beer brands, Heineken, Budweiser, Carlsberg and Guinness, were out on the golf course playing one afternoon. After the 18 hole course, they gathered at the 19th hole (the bar in the club house). They had barely taken their seats when a barmaid appeared to take their order.

Feeling a little smug, the Carlsberg CEO said "a Carlsberg, probably the best beer in the world".

The Heiniken CEO disapproved and ordered what he considered the best beer: Heiniken.

The Budweiser CEO just smiled and said in a Texas accent "You guys don't know shit. Give me the best selling beer in the United States, a Budweiser"

Finally the Guinness CEO simply said "I'll have a coke"

Stunned by this the other CEOs asked why he didn't ordered a Guinness, he promptly answeded "Well, if you guys don't drink beer, neither will I..."
