This was bound to happen:

Al-Qaeda vows to hurt Obama's US
The change of leadership in the US did not mean that America should be perceived differently, he said.

"America, the criminal, trespassing crusader, continues to be the same as ever, so we must continue to harm it in order for it to come to its senses," he said.

Zawahiri also criticised Mr Obama - whose father is Muslim - for betraying the Islamic world.

"You were born to a Muslim father, but you chose to stand in the ranks of the enemies of the Muslims, and pray the prayer of the Jews, although you claim to be Christian, in order to climb the rungs of leadership in America," he said.

Mr Obama was not an "honourable black American" like Malcolm X, he said, but an "abeed al-beit" - a word that translates as house slave but was rendered "house negro" in the message's English subtitles.

The audio was accompanied by footage of a speech by Malcolm X in which he distinguished between "field negroes" who hated their white masters and "house negroes" who, he said, were loyal to them.

Ah well…

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

Those al-Qaeda guys tend to be glass-half-empty types.

I have to agree. It is like they have to find something to hate or find fault with.

I don't think this recording was aimed at Obama exactly. I think it was made for the Islamic world in general, because there have been several Muslim leaders who see the election of Obama as a reason for hope that America will change direction, or at least soften our approach by putting diplomacy back into play.

Al-Qaeda wants it to be business as usual.

And of course, Obama has said that Al-Qaeda is the enemy and not Iraq. They fear a realignment, like a treaty with Syria or even, possibly, Iran.

These terrorists are not really paling around, are they?

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Obama's people are better at marketing than 'W' is, but that can backfire when a large number of people find out Change didn't mean the change they thought it meant.

At least the Al-Qaeda leadership considers their follower's feelings, and are trying not to set them up for big disappointment.

You know, when looking into it objectively, Clinton's policy was not all that pro-islam.
And, yet, he was considered reasonably tolerable by many Muslims.

A good PR can be applied just as well on people outside the borders than inside and Obama is great at that.

I think it's predictable bluster. But if they do get froggy, they won't find Obama reading My Pet goat. Indeed, they very well could get slapped down well before they make their leap -- unlike the current shithead in the White House, he seems to pay attention.

Which is not to say that we should relax vigilance.

Edited to add:
Here we go and elect a half-muslin African Terrorist as president and the goddamned terrorists are complaining? We thought they would greet their New Liberator with sweets and handjobs! But no, Al Qaeda is still a bunch of twats. Listen what the latest YouTube guy of the never-ending supply of “Al-Qaida's No. 2 Leaders” has to say about Barack Obama!

In al-Qaida's first response to Obama's victory, al-Zawahri also called the president-elect — along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice — “house negroes.”
Who are these pigfuckers anyway, and why should we be afraid of them?

Short answers: They are the dregs of just another religion -- and not unlike some our Christians -- and we shouldn't.
