Produce labels are an art form, with results ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. Wouldn't you know that sooner or later I'd get around to messing with them? These efforts should be as easy to ignore as my "Mormonads" stuff.

This reminds me of one of the characters in "The Gangs of New York."

"Don't Worry" has to be the dumbest brand name, evah.

This label actually had a picture of an innocent child, under the banner, "Skeezer."

Thanks, but that idea was stolen by me from Penn Jillette and crew. In the early 1970's, he, Teller, and Some Other Guy were The Aspagus Valley Cultural Association, doing comedy and magic on Broadway in San Francisco. Penn says he's going to pull a rare Snow Leopard from a hat. Out comes a white rabbit. Some Other Guy says, "That's snow leopard!"

Then I got to secure Teller into a straitjacket.

Oh, I'm sure it's much older than that. I have little doubt that the snot joke it reminded me of is almost as old as the word "snot." That's all I was remarking on.

I wasn't trying to be defensive. Just giving proper citation when I recall it. Being an old geezer, I'm especially inclined to do so when there's a story to tell. Much as I say (and sometimes imagine) that I hate puns, reality says I love 'em.

Dave's comment served an additional purpose... cluing in those of us from a more recent generation.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Ricky, I rather doubt that all of your "more recent generation" is so slow.

But then, I have been wrong once or twice.

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

The first of this group I leave unaltered and uncommented.

Damn! I had this one as "Blue Lagoon" originally, and had to redo it. Another elder moment.

HalfMooner - The Snooty Tribe salutes you! These are great.

P.S.
I think I know what's next: WWII bomber squadron aircraft nose art. I understand that some of those B17s and B24s sported some pretty obscure artwork. (Though unfortunately lost in combat, this is one of my favorites. Other kids built models of the Memphis Belle, for me this was it.)

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

"TAX AND SPEND" IS GOOD! (TAX: Wealthy corporations who won't go poor even after taxes. SPEND: On public works programs, education, the environment, improvements.)

Well done, Halfmooner! Many would make ideal fridge magnets.

LOL! Thanks, Chip!

I was hoping the context of that one would overcome any immediate offense. Down in San Diego County, where my sister's family lives, their immediate neighbors are the Sycuan tribe. Not only has their casino operation been successful, they have bought some major real estate in San Diego, including the US Grant Hotel. Every member of that tiny tribe is a millionaire several times over, and the tribe itself is collectively even richer. The Sycuan are also major benefactors in charitable work amongst their neighboring white-eyes and buffalo people. "Snooty Injuns" I don't know, but they are certainly well positioned to be so if they wished.

Thanks for the nose art link (that bomber must have been unheated) and the idea! Doubtless, I'll run that into the ground, as well.

Thank you very much, Randy! That's a good idea, but I don't know how to upload magnets to SFN's server.
