Just give it a little time, and this kids parents will have killed him.

His cancer is spreading, and they want to treat him with natural Native American remedies because there are some unpleasant side effects to chemo. They argue that this is what he wants. But at 13 he is too young to make up his own mind and... he can't even read! Whats that all about? Whether mentally challenged or being kept ignorant by his parents, this only strengthens the argument that he is not competent to make his decisions in this matter.

Sometimes, like right now, I'm ashamed at myself for laughing at woo. It can be F#@%ing deadly serious.

Yes, I've read abut that. Mother of the Year, eh?

If the boy can be found quickly, it might the best thing that could happen; the son could go into a foster home and recieve treatment whilst his mother and father cooled their heels in the can.

Daniel Hauser is back. (Hat tip to PZ Myers.) The judge is saying that if Hauser's parents continue to hold to the same attitude toward chemotherapy, that may decide whether or not they retain custody. I hope Daniel's therapy is still in time. If it doesn't, his parents, and their woo-woo supporters, have murdered him.
