What on Earth? # 78: Fancy Islands

You don't see islands like these every day -- unless you live there.

For one point per question:

1. What's the collective name of these islands?

2. In what country are they located?

You do realize that you have an entirely unnatural and unhealthy interest in geography, right?

You are twice correct, for two more points.

Again, with the Wiki link.

If I had any healthy interests, I'd probably lose interest in them. In all seriousness, I've been visiting SFN on a daily basis for lots of years now and typically I feel too stupid to contribute. WoE has given me something I feel like I can competently do here, and for that I'm grateful.

Well, you're on of those here who are quite competent in this stuff. If I wasn't doing the easy part in making the exercises, I'd be way at the bottom of the heap of competitors. It's scary to me how fast some of you come up with the correct answers. It's especially scary since I have to keep coming up with new problems.

I've thought about suggesting some things to you that I come across while trying to find the answer to these. Maybe I will.

That's fine. Anyone may suggest exercises, but of course cannot then compete in answering that particular problem.
