Wow. O'Really is just jaw-droppingly stupid. Nice to see Dawkins expose him for the ass he is.

The foundation of morality is to . . . give up pretending to believe that for which there is no evidence, and repeating unintelligible propositions about things beyond the possibliities of knowledge.

Dawkins was too nice to him.

Dawkins is simply like that, face to face. His gentlemanliness in person is perhaps his greatest character flaw. He didn't even insult me.

It was so cool to see him gently standing up to that idiot just after I'd met him in person. There's some thing special about having met someone of that caliber, and then indirectly observing them afterward. One gets a small, irrational, but real sense of proprietorship in the person's life.

I don't think his gentlemanliness is a character flaw. And he did tell O'Really to stop shouting. Being the way he is made only one of them come off looking like an asshole...

The truly astounding thing about this clip is that Bill O'Reilly was actually shamed into apologizing. I've never seen him treat a guest with such diametrically opposed views as politely as he did Dawkins. Had Obama's Science Advisor been the guest, Bill would have spent most of the interview shouting over top of his answers, changing the subject. Either the clip is a testimony to the Power of the Dawk side, or O'Reilly has gotten some new meds.

Has O'Lielly ever encountered Christopher Hitchens? I might pay to watch that.

I actually liked the way Dawkins handled it, but it very well may not have come across the way it should have to O'Reilly's viewers. Anyone notice how his title is Richard Dawkins: Atheist instead of author or something like that.

Hitchens on O'Reilly:

Here is the last time Dawkins was on O'Reilly. Pretty sure Bill thinks he is winning this argument, lol.

O'Reilly also made a point of repeatedly calling him "Mister" Dawkins. The Fox folks don't miss any cheap tricks.
