Trip sevens is a pretty good hand but nothing I'd be too proud of. Now, if I could pair the kicker, that would be another story.
Sevens full of neoconservatives could hold up.

How you'd bet a low three-of-a-kind depends on how many players remain in the hand. There's two ways to do it; just call or bet modestly and hope to hit on the draw, or raise hell out of it and hope to scare at least some of the rest into folding, thereby protecting your hand from being out-drawn. If I'm opening, I'd go with the second strategy.
Poker's fun, but you can get badly burned with low trips (anything under 10s is low, which brings us back to topic  ).
