Why anyone assigns any credence at all to FOX, the WSJ or the Washington Times (which, I'm happy to add, is going under) or any of the other conservative rabies vectors is beyond me.
"Evading the challenges of climate change—and the human responsibility to save the planet—is simple enough even for the laziest citizen. Pay attention only to the theories that support the comforting skepticism of the oil industry. Focus on a set of purloined emails that prove nothing except that scientists can be as unpleasant to each other as any other group of people. Get the “facts” from Fox News Channel, the Wall Street Journal editorial page, the Moonie-controlled Washington Times and all the other conservative outlets that are as fair and balanced as an Exxon press release.
And be sure to ignore the mounting evidence, most notably the actual temperature studies released by the United Nations this week, that proves beyond a doubt that the earth is warming as car-bon-based industrialization spreads across the developing nations.
It is hardly surprising that Fox News would emphasize the use of terms like “trick” in a stolen message from the University of East Anglia without mentioning that the word has an innocent mean-ing when used by scientists. It is even less surprising that in their zeal to exploit those emails and influence public opinion, the Fox News crew would concoct their own stupid deception.
As the email controversy unfolded, pollsters at Rasmussen Reports asked respondents the following question: “In order to support their own theories and beliefs about global warming, how likely is it that some scientists have falsified research data?” According to their survey, 35 percent believed that it was “very likely,” 24 percent thought it was “somewhat likely,” 21 percent thought it was “not very likely,” 5 percent thought it was “not likely at all” and 15 percent were unsure. But those results weren’t damning enough for Fox, which displayed a full-screen graphic on the poll claiming that 59 percent considered scientific deception to be “somewhat likely” and 35 percent considered it to be “very likely,” with only 26 percent feeling it was not very likely. Add up those numbers and the total comes to 120 percent (with the uncertain 15 percent discarded)."
Pretty pathetic and a sad commentary on state of American comprehension, which seems to get more head-up-the-ass with each passing day.
The article continues, pointing up some of Sen. Inhofe's scumbag behavior, which is not out of the ordinary for that skeevy embarrassment to Oklahoma. All in all, it's a good if disgusting read.
On a related and dumber matter: Bill O'Reilly's lie of the month, which doesn't deserve it's own thread. BO seldom does.

His behavior sort of points up to an emotional insecurity that might have been brought on by the lack or a deformation of his dick. I wonder; did he have the childhood nickname of "Stubby?" Or possibly "Weird Wang Willy?"

In the latest Quentin Tarantino movie Inglourious Basterds there is a scene where Brad Pitt asks a captured Nazi soldier what he'd do if he was allowed to leave. "Will you take off your uniform?" Pitt asks. "Yes, certainly," the Nazi replies. "I'd go back to my family farm, take off my uniform and never put it on again."
That, explains Pitt, is unacceptable. A Nazi should not be able to hide his past, to blend back into the general populace and forget what he had done. So Pitt tells the man "I'm gonna give you a little somethin' you can't take off," and he carves a swastika into the Nazi's forehead.
I wish I could carve a big W in the forehead of every global warming denier so that 30 years from now everyone alive will know who it was that fucked the rest of us over.

The success of FOXnoise is easily explained by the attempts at writing by it's faithful viewers. You just can't make this sort of asininity up!
Those "conservative" Fox "News" fans sure do use a lot of F-words in their death threats.
We're used to various death threats by now, of course, even from Drudge's poodle, Andy "Big Government" Breitbart, but those socially "conservative", American "values"-lovin', Fox "News" viewers have really outdone themselves this time.
On Monday night, FoxNews.com featured a story on the latest announcement from VR'ss StopTheChamber.com campaign, concerning the offer of a $200,000 reward for insider information leading to the arrest and conviction of Tom Donohue, the CEO of the right-wing corporatist lobbying group, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. And the e-mails in question, you ask? Well, ok, but be sitting down for this, and put your beverage aside for the moment....
Out of an abundance of generosity, we're not posting the emailers names here (each bullet-point quote below comes from a different note) but the ones which include threats of violence have been given to the FBI [PDF] in D.C., along with a request for an investigation to find out if the Chamber itself might be behind the hit campaign.
As many of these are not safe for work, we'll post them below the fold...

I note that some of these whiz kids claim to be from Texas. Things being as they are today, I'd not consider that to be much of a bragging point, and they are a part of the reason why.

Fox News' Bill O'Reilly lashed out at "Law & Order" franchise creator/executive producer Dick Wolf Thursday night. The bombastic host, upset over how he was recently characterized on the long-running NBC drama, called the "far left" Wolf a "despicable human being" whose show is "out of control."
Sparking O'Reilly's ire was an episode of "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" that aired earlier in the week, in which a crazed anti-immigration activist set out to murder the children of illegal immigrants. In one scene, a character named Randall Carver, played by veteran actor John Larroquette, is sitting on a park bench talking to Fin, the detective played by Ice-T. In defending the actions of the man who killed the immigrants’ children, Larroquette's character says, "Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, all of 'em, they are like a cancer spreading ignorance and hate...They've convinced folks that immigrants are the problem, not corporations that fail to pay a living wage or a broken health care system..."

John Larroquette's script had it nailed down tight & right. These creeps are malignent tumors, even bubos, with the unique ability to be flatulent at both ends -- a talent they showcase constantly.
