Satan, the Fall, and a Look at Good and Evil
Introduction, by Bodie Hodge
| The most common questions asked of Answers in Genesis—next to evolution and millions of years—relate to Satan, the origin of sin and evil, and the Fall of man in general. A complete understanding of this issue requires a careful examination of the Curse in Genesis 3 and other early chapters in Genesis. |
Indeed? How does one examine the writings of an ancient peoples? I rather doubt that Mr. Hodge is an archaeologist; he has no access to the original writings, and he's suffering from an iron-bound preconception from the get=go.
| In particular, Satan and the origin of evil are hot topics in today’s culture because the world denies the existence of both. For the most part, the church has few biblical resources on the subject to counter the claims raised in today’s culture. So we are going to examine a myth are we? Excellent! And we are going to do it with minimal resources. Hmm.... Not so excellent. I submit that my hypothesis that Pat Robertson is Satan is just as good as the Biblical one. I've heard that he's hiring -- wanna job?
The problems we face today were brought upon us by ourselves and natural disasters that we weren't ready for.

Oh, goody! But I must ask; if the Bible is the only reference in existence, where's your collaboration? How do you know it's reliable?

I do not understand this "Original Sin" concept. What, were A & E passing around a dose of the clap?

Indeed.
I don't know if I'll put this one through the shredder or not. It looks line it'll be a hell of a long series and I suspect we'll all be bored to distraction with it well before it runs it's course.
