It's great to see this unethical bastard finally being called to account for all he's done to cause a panic against vaccination and thereby promote preventable disease.

Yeah, but is all that really enough to shut-up Jenny McCarthy's claim for good? I doubt it.

Your safe there Randy, as evident in the article when it reported how other "jennies" voiced their opinions for the gallery. Nothing science and doctors say or could say will change Jenny McCarthy's position. Her stance on this topic has given her more media exposure than her career could have given her, many times over. It seems to me, Her public position is irreversible, the hole she has dug and lives is to deep and comfortable, for her to ever climb out.
I think it is important to remember that we will never see, in our remaining years, a world that is anything but Chuck full o'nuts or deluded people. Whether it be believers in Alien made crop circles, 911 deniers, deceived religious groupies, etc.... What is most important is to continually refine critical thinking skills so one does not accept or take ownership of harmful and false beliefs. Whether they are beliefs like this thread's underlying topic or a belief accepted by everyone else. Thanks for reminding and reinforcing this in me. SS

There are only two types of religious people, the deceivers and the deceived. SS

SS, this brings to mind the farce of Facilitative Communication with autistic people a few years ago. FC had its followers/believers not unlike J. McCarthy. In its day, FC really spread like wildfire until a prominent lawsuit and a crafty defense attorney presented simple tests that showed how bogus FC really was. (His client had been falsely accused through FC of molesting a autistic student.)
Many users of FC with autistic people were too emotionally wrapped up in it to abandon it completely.

The faithful followers and the great unwashed will simply see this as persecution, I doubt we've really won anything.
