Better save this page before Andy takes it down:

Unsolicited gratitude from an attorney/mother/teacher whom we've never met: "I love Conservapedia, and was able to check a few things. I learned from you that the first thanksgiving was to give thanks for the Constitution."

He admits that the first thanksgiving was in 1619, and that the first banquet was in 1621. When was the American Constitution made?

September 17, 1787

The only thing I can see that would excuse that stupidity of his is what he's got posted on the top of the page:

A picture of the
Congressional Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, set by Congress, December 18, 1777

The first Thanksgiving Proclamation I could find was here.

By one of the colonies in 1676. Still doesn't help his case.

So it seems that even there, the man shows his (and his readers' ignorance).

What excuse do they have left?

One of the commentators on FSTDT guessed that:

Also possible, she misread this:

http://conservapedia.com/United_States_Constitution

"Established on November 26, 1789, the first national "Thanksgiving Day" was originally created by George Washington as a way of "giving thanks" for the Constitution."

First "national" Thanksgiving Day (i.e, first one established by the US gov't), not first Thanksgiving ever.

That's the only thing I can think of.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

I drop by Conservapedia and browse around, every now & again. The bias and thundering ignorance presented there can only be described as astounding. Not even the weird Creationwiki can compete.

But it's a larf, innit?

Conservapedia: It's not even mistaken. It's just a growing compilation of fascistic, theocratic inventions, intended for brainwashing isolated home schoolers and dimwitted adults with an ideology conveniently serving Schlafly's elitist and theocratic agenda.

I also suspect that Schlafly (like L. Ron Hubbard) thrives on the sense of power it gives him to make his sheepish followers believe the ridiculous shit he makes up.

Then again, I openly admit I may be wrong. Maybe Andy is indeed just totally batshit insane.
