Our climate is already changing, particularly in the Arctic where permafrost is melting, glaciers are receding, and sea ice is disappearing. >>
Last night The history channel showed tapes of thousands of ice bergs breaking loose every year, and there was far to many to make an accurate count or prove other data.
Who are you going to believe, a scientist with his reputation on the line, of actual tapes?
I'm still waiting for a meteorologist of note to let the world know what the working base line F or C temperature is.

And this is the second time that you've claimed that "actual tapes," videos for which you have not a clue regarding their origin or custody, have some sort of evidential import, while at the same time claiming that "true science" is a naive empiricism. Over the past century, Earth's average temperature has risen by about 1 degree Fahrenheit and many scientists believe greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide emissions from human activities are to blame.

Means nothing without a world wide (including both poles) standard baseline F or C temperature to refer to, and they refuse to reveal it.
You really can't blame them for being overprotective because it could mean a loss of their fragile reputations and respectibility if they're proven wrong.

For the sake of argument let's make the remarkable assumption that footage from entertainment channels are evidence. Then what are scientists and their organized data, chopped liver?

Heh, and we might remind that a TV meteorologist is not a climate scientist. If they were, they would not be wasting their time on the boob toob.
At least Bigbrain and Jerome would argue before going insane. It seems that cantbe doesn't know how.

I finally delved into learning more about climate change and posted a section at Debunkatron. The day I added the Climate Change (Global Warming) Denial section, I get rants from a denier. Perhaps he didn't like that I put it in the Conspiracy section.

Nor is he much of an anything-ologist. He boldly states that "I will not consider fluid motion of the atmosphere..." and goes on to ignore pretty much all aspects of the atmosphere, focusing instead on nothing more than the emissivity and reflectivity of uniformly gray balls, which are obviously a poor model for the planets he examines. And when the model fails to replicate reality, instead of blaming his crappy model, he blames the climate scientists. |

I recall mentioning the Great Ocean Conveyor not too long ago. Well, here it is in action!
"This is the first time we've seen waters this warm in any of the fjords in Greenland," says Straneo. "The subtropical waters are flowing through the fjord very quickly, so they can transport heat and drive melting at the end of the glacier."
Greenland's ice sheet, which is two-miles thick and covers an area about the size of Mexico, has lost mass at an accelerated rate over the last decade. The ice sheet's contribution to sea level rise during that time frame doubled due to increased melting and, to a greater extent, the widespread acceleration of outlet glaciers around Greenland.
While melting due to warming air temperatures is a known event, scientists are just beginning to learn more about the ocean's impact -- in particular, the influence of currents -- on the ice sheet.
"Among the mechanisms that we suspected might be triggering this acceleration are recent changes in ocean circulation in the North Atlantic, which are delivering larger amounts of subtropical waters to the high latitudes," says Straneo. But a lack of observations and measurements from Greenland's glaciers prior to the acceleration made it difficult to confirm.

Your assessment would hold more water, Straneo, if you would let the rest of the world know what your baseline high temperature is, then you could actually prove it's warmer than it was before, not just take your word for it... Show us. Don't tell us...
