Seriously, for telling kids they are "special" and not beating them over the head with the toughness of reality.

Now I could see them bashing Mr. Wizard for his indoctrination into the black arts known as "science".

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History

"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini

There was plenty of reality in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. It just happen to be a safe place to explore it and not get dumped into it with no preparation.

I find it quite interesting that these feckless fucks waited until after the man was dead over half a decade before bashing him.

How I do miss Fred Rogers....

Damn fine individual. Hopeful, uplifting, and a dose of reality tempered with compassion.

My sister, who was a fine elementary teacher, has always praised Fred Rogers for his gentleness and kindness to kids. He got it just right, she says.

These Fox fux are just bloody crazy. I wouldn't want any one of those heartless bastards within 100 meters of children, about the same distance that Catholic priests should be kept from kids, and for similar reasons.

These FOX idiots must have voluntarily lobotomized themselves.

"These experts" they refer to is a clueless economics teacher at a university who comes up with a half-assed theory based on his observation that Asian kids do better and whine less than caucasian kids. Therefore, it must be mr. Rogers! No study has been done, no actual comparisons made and it can't possibly be the different cultures and circumstances Asians grow up in compared to Caucasians. The clueless dipshit probably never even asked the kids he works with whether they ever watched mr Rogers in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if in fact all the Asian kids had watched mr. Roger as a kid and the Caucasian kids didn't.

Really, this is stupid beyond belief.

Tom

`Contrariwise,' continued Tweedledee, `if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.'

Mr. Rogers was very dear to me. I still sometimes cried about his death years afterwards. Listening to these FOX pathetic twisted assholes is sickening.
