I have heard about Carl Sagan's Cosmos before but never watched it because I was under the impression that it would be all about outer space and that I really wouldn't understand it. Boy was I wrong all these years. What really helps me understand the concepts Dr. Sagan is presenting is the way he relates the science to historical people and events. Come to find out I am much more knowledgeable about world history than I thought I was. I am on episode 7 now and I have yet to come across a piece of history Dr. Sagan talks about that I am not familiar with. I guess all of the years I've had my nose stuck in history books actually may have sunk into my skull. Damn I should have went to college.
I think Cosmos should be required viewing for all High School students.
Thanks SFN for turning me on to this most valuable piece of work. Now I may actually understand a little bit when you guys are talking all your sciency stuff that usually goes right over my head. Now all I need is some real-life people to be able to talk to.
Next on my reading list is Demon Haunted World.

Cool!!!

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

It is also available both streaming and on DVD from Netflix...the greatest invention ever that I should have bought stock in when I first got it and realized I loved it!
