Typhoon Fanapi hit eastern Taiwan on Sunday, leaving at least three people dead in related accidents... On Saturday,[while the typhoon was hundreds of kilometers away] a 76-year-old woman who was trying to harvest her crops ahead of the typhoon apparently fell from a terraced hill into a river in the county, state media said. She was found drowned.

Two junior high students in the county also died Saturday, CNA said. They were among a group of seven students who were visiting a flooded canal when a girl slipped off the bank in the rain, CNA said, citing police. Three boys jumped into the water to rescue her. Only two of the would-be rescuers made it to safety; one of the boys died, along with the girl, CNA said.

So 3 people died of misfortune, farming, being kids, attempting to be heroic, and ultimately drowning in fresh water. But to grab headline and cultivate fear CNN attributes the deaths to the typhoon, which again was several hundred kilometers out to sea on Saturday (having made landfall this (Sunday) morning.

Carry on.

Let's face it with so many multiple, competing, 24hr "news" channels (businesses), they must keep their ratings up. They do have to be able to sell advertising spots and ratings are used to determine their value. With the storm not even there yet, this type of manipulation/fabrication of news serves to prepare the lemmings viewers for the storm. During which they need to be glued to (CNN) their TV's, once they have be "informed" just how deadly this storm already is. Also it helps with "fear" conditioning, so the viewers can be manipulated whenever desired, like now and anytime in the future, "as the band plays on". SS

There are only two types of religious people, the deceivers and the deceived. SS
