But we already knew that, didn't we?
Glenn Beck is not a fan of science.

In February, the Fox News host suggested that scientists involved in the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change should commit suicide. Now he's turned his attention to evolution.

"I don't think we came from monkeys," Beck said on his Wednesday radio show. "I think that's ridiculous. I haven't seen a half-monkey, half-person yet."

"Did evolution just stop? Did all of the sudden -- there's no other species that is developing into half-human?"

"If I get to the other side and God's like, 'You know what, yep, you were a monkey once,' I'll be shocked, but I'm cool with it," he continued.
To see a half human/half monkey, all he has to do is look in a mirror. His audiences see one all the time.

That is the oldest and lamest of the anti-evolution arguments, if 'argument' it can be called. Indeed, it is so lame that most of the serious creationists, such as those at ICR & AiG & ID, seldom parrot it out these days. I guess they got tired of being laughed at.

But the Beck-monkey can continue to fling his faeces and his faithful following of intellectual proto-simians will continue to lap it up.

I am now dumber because I actually listened to it.

Beck's screed might be considered an "argument from scientific ignorance." (But perhaps he knows better, and is cynically trying to exploit the ignorance of his audience.)

A century and a half ago, when he was writing the first edition of On the Origin of Species, Charles Darwin himself anticipated Beck's and others' moronically absurd "crocaduck"-style non-argument. First he presented his best available scientific reasoning and evidence. Darwin summarized, in part:
... I believe that species come to be tolerably well-defined objects, and do not at any one period present an inextricable chaos of varying and intermediate links...

Biology is just physics that has begun to smell bad.” —HalfMooner

I would almost put money on that. Some industry insiders claim that Beck has admitted that it's mostly schtick, and he does it strictly to make a buck. Personally, I can think of more honourable ways.
