In terms of sheer lunacy, I think it's up there with shape-changing lizard people.

Its a secret government mind control plot! Because it makes perfect sense that the entire airline industry and chemical manufacturing industry are working together with a secret government agency to manufacture millions of tons of some chemical, load it into apparently invisible spraying apparatus that functions at high altitide without freezing up, and spray it accross the entire globe.... all whithout anyone ever letting the secret out of the bag!
Yep, makes perfect sense!
Why do you think airlines are charging for bags now? They have to pay for the extra fuel it requires to lift those tons of chemical!

That one's been around for a long time. I recall hearing about it in the '50s. It was supposed to have had something to do with the communists. In those days, everything had something to do with communists.

| Conspiracy theory whackos have turned it into a major issue as of late.....why are some so obsessed with the destruction of life as we know it? What do we possibly have to gain by destroying ourselves and the planet? Is death so important to some of these people that every dooms day prediction that comes down the pike they take it and run with it! For all you dooms day lovers I have some advice "GET A LIFE!" |

Not necessarily...
High relative humidity in the air and severe turbulence is enough. It's simply condensation of the moisture in the air.
Here's a pic from a small contrail from the rear wing of a Formula1 car. No exhaust fumes involved.
I've seen it many times during F1-races.

Well, it's deadly by a strech... The exhaust fumes of F1 cars contain CO (carbon mono-oxide) which is lethal in an enclosed space. But a car or an airtrail will get too diluted, too fast.

Not all conspiracy theories are the same. I read somewhere it was a government experiment to make the population smarter in a more cost effective way. They certainly don't need help to make the population dumber because the people already have access to drugs that do that.
It had measured success. The rural folks that received the spraying moved into the cities which was a move up.
Would it work if the cities were sprayed? Not after New York. The entire program was scrapped.
Now we have the same rural folks joining the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street protesters. Those smart effects were temporary. |

We don't need a conspiracy theory to believe the experiment went bad. Just talk to the protesters, where most don't even know what their agenda is. |
