I am the very model of a Biblical Inerrantist
And everything not scriptural is false (of course I've made a list)

Pre-sup apologetics is to me the perfect paradigm
All truth is in King James, as printed there in ancient time

I preach that for the faithful to be raptured to the Godly Court
Any science that they study must be pure and of the pseudo sort

I preach there are no species, only "kinds," or, better, baramin
(And sort of indefinable, like notes played on a theremin)

I tell my flock science is the religion of the cannibal
(And calling it "religion" is my most unkindest cut of all)

I use up every insult, I hope that there are none I've missed
I am the very model of a Biblical Inerrantist

The Razor used by Occam has Creation proven true
For fiat lux is simpler than a warm pond filled with goo

I know the globe's not warming up, it surely never will
Because the Lord of Hosts is telling us to "Drill, baby, drill!"

Science tells many other lies: I know the Big Bang's bunk
I know there was a Noahic Flood, and genomes hold no junk

For reasoning that's circular is science-proof and sound:
The castle with the strongest walls is made of stone, and round

The blessed Rapture soon will come, I wish, I hope, I know
The sky will shatter into shards, the glorious blood will flow

Til then we all should target that Devil's friend, the scientist
I am the very model of a Biblical Inerrantist

The clever Darwinists, their evidence makes me weary
Quite unlike my faith, that bunk is nothing but a theory

They pile facts on Procrustes' Bed and hope they stay on it
With reason "proving" reason, facts are hacked and stretched to fit

Like Gravity and Germs it's all mushy hypothetics
But my faith stands there firm on bootstrapped apologetics

After Darwin (or was it Lucifer?) lit up that blinding spark
Our Age is too well lighted now, it needs a little Dark

I know there's books want burning now, some heretics as well
A pogrom now would be sweet, or sending a witch to Hell

Crusades would be such bloody fun -- can I help you to enlist?
I am the very model of a Biblical Inerrantist

Nice! I once did a thing on the Major General song too. It's irresistible.

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

Thanks,Kil! Yes, it's both irresistible and a lot of work to spoof that thing, especially as it's a very wordy song. WS Gilbert, who wrote the wonderful original, has my unbounded respect

No, I have not, as far as I can remember with my stroke-damaged memory. Produce it, you varlet!

By the way, here's Wiki's article on the original Gilbert and Sullivan song, complete with an actual old recording.

(I could never mouth words both so swiftly and inerrantly as does George Baker in that 1929 recording, much less sing them!)

Okay, I apologize for calling you a "varlet," Kil. Though you doubtless get called that a lot, it was an unjustified bit of ad hom on my part.

I enjoyed that. I've started similar a couple of times but never finished one.

Nicely done!

Thanks, Fil! For me, it was three day's hard slogging, until I finally surrendered and proclaimed the monster finito. I'd love to see even your partial results.

Oh, that was a very nice job, Kill! How long did it take to compose? Mine in the OP took three days of almost full-time work.

Well... It really didn't take me long. But then, I'm a songwriter. What I did do was to get a copy the original lyrics so I could get all of the phrasing, verses and choruses where they should be. Otherwise, it just kind of popped out of me, like many of my own songs do.

Unfortunately, those were a couple of computers ago and no longer exist. Neither do the computers. They helped me to hate computers.

I know exactly what it takes to compose something like this and no longer have the attention span to do another. Which is why I no longer write essays.

No kidding on the essay thing. A kil report takes me forever to write. I have no idea how some people write whole books (even though my brother does that) or write long blogs on a regular, sometimes daily basis.

Even songs don't pop out of me the way they used to. Sometimes they do, but not as often. Maybe that's lack of practice. I dunno...

I'd be -- at best -- a very slow physicist compared to a real one, too. I salute your talent!

While we're at it, "I am the very model of a singularitarian" .
