Bill Muehlenberg has a post where he says that he's not afraid to "offend" people. Well, I tried to post a comment there saying that I agree.
Cool. I love nothing less than political correctness. I figure that one should call a spade a spade. That's why I have no hesitation in calling people who talk to invisible people in the sky "messed up in the head", and those who try to distort honest science to go along with decrees written by bronze agers who also talked to invisible people, as being completely bonkers.
Since you don't care about being offended Bill, I'm sure that you'll have no problem publishing this (since I refrained from breaking your rules below)...unless you're a hypocrite. |

| Not that I want to be on the same side as people like Andrew Bolt, but Australia's Racial Discrimination Act is definitely an affront to free speech. The solution to offensive speech is not to lock up the speakers. Liberals ought to be as disgusted by the RDA, but Muehlenberg and others appear to be blaming the RDA's passage on liberals. Did Australian liberals mandate political correctness? |

| To put it delicately, yes. That guy is heavy into censorship. He'll let a token skeptic or two at the most comment, but he will always have the last word. Just do a search for that guy or the name of his site on this site and you'll see I've tried to post to his site a few times...the last time I successfully posted, he distorted what I said and insulted me and atheists in general, and I have not been able to get a reply posted since. His insult however still stands. |

I think it is unproductive to be offensive. Public discourse should be a platform for the exchange of ideas and social media should encourage rational etiquette and proper decorum.
But as the lyrics go. There are all kinds of people with all kinds of reasons for engaging in social media.
