This is just sickening. You've heard what those buggers are like...well Rush apparently hasn't.
| Is that right? The Lord’s Resistance Army is being accused of really bad stuff? Child kidnapping, torture, murder, that kind of stuff? Well, we just found out about this today. We’re gonna do, of course, our due diligence research on it. But nevertheless we got a hundred troops being sent over there to fight these guys — and they claim to be Christians. |

I do not consider myself particularly well-informed about world events. Most of what I know comes from casual listening to NPR and particularly interesting articles or info which get brought to my attention by friends or relatives. But I know about the LRA! My god, I've been hearing about the atrocities, including massacring whole villages and forcing kids to kill their own parents for years. How the fuck can someone be a political pundit for a living and not have heard of the LRA? |

I found it strange that Rush's supporters commented saying the LRA are Christians fighting Muslims. I had never heard that before, so I started looking up more, and the truth about them is even disgusting and inexplicable than I assumed. From here:

Really? I think you need to acquaint yourself with annoying little things called "facts". But hey, I guess rampant military expenditures out-of-proportion with their GDP; the over-extension of their territorial claims; the slow erosion of their infrastructure and educational systems; as well as at least half-a-dozen other contributors; I guess all of those are easily hand-waved away by those of you who choose to ignore reality.
