Does God continue to ignore the prayers of many thousands of Christians in Kentucky these days, in particular those of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis? For some mysterious reason because that's the way God rolls, God has been ignoring the prayers of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis and all Christian Americans opposed to same sex marriages this summer.

Ms. Davis has single handedly refused on three separate occasions a male gay couple's request for a marriage license to be issued by the department she heads. I believe she has stopped issuing marriage licenses all together, like that is going to help. The Kentucky Supreme courts has spoken yet again today and tomorrow morning they (the gays couple) will be back for a fourth time. No doubt Kim Davis is just trying to uphold her belief in the sanctity of marriage according to God as she sees it. Whom BTW has been married 4 times. I wonder if they were all performed in a church and included her proclaiming before God "until death do us part"? Just one more hypocrite Christian, nothing new with that here. Of course this would not be so mysterious of God if he wants all those he created to be able to chose who they fall in love with and choose to marry, now would it? Seems God is answering Gays who pray to him on this issue, fancy that.

From the link,,,
"On Monday, the Christians stood on the grass and sang "I am a Child of God."

The marriage equality activists chimed in after each refrain: "So are we."

Any ways tomorrow Ms. Davis will have her Waterloo.

The carnival show continues. Davis has denied the issuing of a marriage license for a fifth time to a gay couple who came in this morning. FYI, she is presently being sued by not only by that one gay couple but also by two opposite-sex couples. I guess she thinks it's ok or proper to violate her solemn oath of office if she violates it for everyone equally. She must think "That's constitutional". She is going to find out violating the constitution isn't permissible if it's done in a non discriminating way. More comedic thinking from those not living completely within reality, I suppose. This is the results of what happens to one's cognitive approach to life overall when your required to defy logic and reason so your religious beliefs make imaginary sense.

County Clerk Kim Davis has put herself in a no win situation believing that she can take an oath and them break it on religious reasons. If she is unable to honor her oath and perform her job she needs to resign and put an end to this silliness.

She will be held in contempt of court, probably on Thursday. They will start with fines, probably, and if she continues, jail. The attorney for the people suing her would prefer fines, becoming more steep as time goes on. The thinking is that throwing her in jail will martyr her, which seems to be what her attorneys are going for. Some people feel that she is being used by her very RR attorneys who would be happy to see her thrown in jail.

In Kentucky that would be the state legislature that would decide on impeachment or not. Which isn't until next January for their next regular session or sooner if the governor calls for a special session, which will be costly to the state. It just a matter of waiting for the fat lady to sing.

Kim Davis Jailed for Contempt in Kentucky Gay Marriage Dispute

“The court cannot condone the willful disobedience of its lawfully issued order,” said Judge Bunning, who was appointed by President George W. Bush. “If you give people the opportunity to choose which orders they follow, that’s what potentially causes problems.”

Snip
Lawyers for the couples had asked Judge Bunning to fine Ms. Davis and not send her to jail, but the judge said he thought that a fine would not be enough to prompt the clerk’s compliance.

As marshals led her from the courtroom, Ms. Davis said, “Thank you, judge.”

Judge Bunning told all five of Ms. Davis’s deputies, including her son, Nathan, that they were free to issue licenses to all applicants while Ms. Davis was held in contempt. But the judge also warned that the deputy clerk would face fines or jail if they refuse to comply. He told them to meet with lawyers and consider their options before returning to his courtroom later Thursday.

She is to be held until she agrees to comply with the court order. My guess is she will be in jail for a good long while.

I wish she would honor her oath or resign but obviously giving her word means little to her or is honored only when it's convenient to her. Next is for the gay couple to go back and see if they are turned away again. Should be interesting, hopefully not.

It's not just gays being denied licenses here, her office has stopped issuing licenses to everyone. How can they keep collecting the pay checks?

The judge warned her staff to start handing out marriage licenses or they could face fines and jail time too.

Yes, tomorrow morning will be interesting. If they obey the law and constitution performing their duties as they should have been doing all along her game will be over.

Last I heard, all of Davis' deputies (except her son) told the judge they'd have no problems issuing marriage licenses to everyone, and so the judge told Davis she could go free if she'd promise to not interfere with her deputies issuing licenses.

She said she couldn't make such a promise.

So it's obviously more than just Davis' own authority that she's concerned about. She seems to feel that her deputies' approval is her own.

Maybe she has a sign on her desk that says, "the bigotry stops here."

Har, har.

How's that for putting your own foot in your mouth? If that's the case then she's admitting that if released she will continue to violate people's constitutional protected rights. This could go on until the Kentucky Legislature chooses to change their laws changing her ability to violate the law, if she insists on remaining so recalcitrant. January 2016 is their next scheduled session. To each their own I suppose. Maybe she could spend her free time in jail praying to god to help her?

Yeah Dave! How about "The Constitution Stops Here"
It's all over as the ink dries.
Deputy clerk Brian Mason issued the license Friday morning, congratulating the couple and shaking their hands as he smiled. The couple embraced and cried.

Aww, "The couple embraced and cried" I love happy endings!

The only mystery here left unanswered is where if the hell does Ms. Davis get her Looney Tunes based concept that Marriage is between one man and one woman. Not from Her God or the Bible, that's for sure. Just making shit up as usual, that is all Ms.Davis is doing as a Christian, in her delusional head.

So it turns out that her deputies issuing licenses does imply Davis' own approval, because the licenses are all printed with her signature.

On another note, Ed Brayton posted an image of someone praying outside the courthouse, and then he pointed out:
Why are you praying? You prayed that the Supreme Court wouldn’t legalize gay marriage and they did. You prayed that the judge wouldn’t order her to issue the licenses and he did. You prayed that he wouldn’t find her in contempt and he did. You prayed that she wouldn’t go to jail and she is. Either God isn’t listening, doesn’t exist, or she thinks you’re full of shit.

Davis was released from jail after 5 days. Claiming victory to her god while ignoring it was the Federal Judge who permitted her release and ignoring how he will send her back no matter how much she claims her god supports her. Letting her sit in jail for 5 days and possibly going back, Ms. Davis will find out how removed her god really is on this carnival sideshow she's got going on.

Deputy clerk Brian Mason said the office would issue licenses to anyone seeking them. He added that if Davis returns to work and tells him to stop, he'll tell her that he can't obey and instead must follow a federal judge's order to issue licenses.

In lifting the contempt order against Davis, U.S. District Judge David Bunning said he was satisfied that her deputies were fulfilling their obligation to grant licenses to same-sex couples in her absence. But Bunning's order was clear: If Davis interferes with the issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples upon her return, she could go right back to jail.

Will she interfere with licenses being issued again when she returns to work? Well! She's not saying. We'll find out tomorrow (Friday) or next Monday the earliest. However we should not assume just any gay couple will show up as soon as she returns to work. It isn't like there are lines of them backed up holding their breaths, waiting for her return to work.
