Poll Question:
Which conspiracy theory is the stupidest?

Choices:
9/11 building collapses required pre-planted explosives
Global warming is a politically-motivated hoax
Big Pharma intends to keep you sick for bigger profits
The Apollo Moon missions were hoaxed
Shape-shifting lizards are taking over world governments
Extraterrestrial visitations are being covered up
A Darwinist cabal keeps ID research out of reputable science journals
Other (please explain)

The poll is flawed. Obviously, they're all true, the question is what is the proper authoritative hierarchy?

Personally, I don't think shape shifting lizards are going to take shit from E.T. so they're probably on top. Of course, the illuminati could be lizards. Damn, I need to really think this through...

Edited coz my inability to type proper in chat today seems to have carried over to regular posting too.

John's just this guy, you know.

Agreein' with John. All of the above are are the bestest stupid.

I'm gonna vote "Other," but not yet. Maybe tomorrow. It's never wise to rush into these things.

I was just about ready to vote the moon hoaxers as the dumbest of mainstream conspiracy theorists, but those who buy into shape-shifting aliens are really in a league of their own.

I got to admit, I really enjoy the whole lizard thing.

What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a pink shirt before?

I voted 9/11 CT nutbags as the stupidest.

Because the lizard people, ya just look at them, and you say "WTF are you smoking?", laugh and walk away. They are so obviously delusional that you almost have to pity them.

But the 9/11 crowd, they are where all the JFK, black helicopter, hardcore lunatics went. They get one crazy, discredited, fraudulent, morally and ethically bankrupt professor who writes a paper so far outside his realm of expertise his own school fires him... and they are convinced. So convinced that they will tell deliberate lies, repeat things they know are debunked, deliberately exclude data that contradicts their false assertions.

Yeah, the lizard people are crazy... but the 9/11 crowd are willfully ignorant. That, I think, trumps crazy in the competition for stupid.

Ok! I've decided... The stupidest conspiracy has to be the Total Truth Takeover, because the theory behind it was downright pathetic.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell

You forgot chemtrails. And Planet X.

Or maybe you didn't forget. Maybe this is part of a vast conspiracy to prevent some of the prize pseudoscientific paranoia of our time from having a fair chance at proper recognition of the beauty of its dumbnitude.

Next thing we know, we'll find out Diebold wrote the polling parts of the forum software.

Erm..., didn't Ferdinand Magellan put paid to that nonsense some centuries before orbital photography came into vogue?

Nah, Eratosthenes figured it out 1,600 years before Ferdinand was even born.

Yes, yes of course. Can't argue with the math..... But ol' Ferdy nailed it down to the satisfaction of even the illiterate -- with the exceptions of those so illiterate that they are actually infectious. The heirs of these last thrive today at such exotic locals as AiG, ICR, and at something called, for no reason that anyone can discern, The Discovery Institute.

I voted the moon hoax but on reflection I think crop circles may be the dumbest hoax. I didn't vote for the shape shifting lizards because I don't beleive that anyone actually beleieve's that. Anyone who really believes something that weird is mentally ill and doesn't count.
