It's no surprise that this dirtiest of all Presidents has again hobbled and muzzled the experts in one of his Administration's watchdog agencies. That sort of contempt for science, medicine, and honesty is S.O.P. for Bush.
What I actually find most interesting is a very minor matter: the hilarious illiteracy of a Bush apparatchik: Susan Dudley, head of OMB's Information and Regulatory Affairs, alluded to Bush's involvement in a last- minute memo to EPA chief Stephen Johnson.
"The president has concluded that consistent with administration policy, added protection should be afford to public welfare by strengthening the secondary ozone standard and setting it to be identical to the new primary standard," she wrote. It should not be weaker or more stronger than the human health standard, the OMB insisted. |

We need an Executive Branch that is more smarter! Maybe Dudley was home-schooled, then attended Liberty University? I'd rather believe that than think she's just another damned GOP crook, looking out for industry's short-term profits at the expense of both human and environmental health.

The esteemed Ms. Dudley was just inhaling some of the light breezes of 03 wafting over Washington since the 110th US Congress convened in January, 2008. According to current weather reports from the DNC, sanitizing hurricane force winds of pure 03 are predicted for the entire D.C. area starting in January of 2009.
Hopefully, the most stupidest Ms. Dudley will be more fired from her fat bureaucratic post than she is now! We'll see! |

Oh, re-reading that, it appears then maybe the "more stronger" phrase was a reporter's doing. It's an indirect quote, possibly.

Which says one hell of a lot for our national news media, doesn't it? If this is so, the guy's editor should be demoted to to the janitoral staff. I let the reporter off the hook because their illiteracy & bias is manifest and well understood. And I despise them a little less than I loath editors.

Once in a while, I'm asked to do a little freelance editing and get paid foir it. For a while afterward, I feel like a self-loathing whore, but the money ain't bad.
