Here's a story about a Democratic Congressional candidate who called the FBI in Florida with supposed evidence to expose election theft where optical scanners were used to do the dirty deed and switch votes. Read this article carefully.http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1106-30.htm

Top 10 Questions About the Legitimacy of the 2004 Presidential Election
1. Systematic Voting Machine Irregularities: The Diebold optical scanner voting machines
used in 29 Florida counties gave wildly unlikely and unauditable results, with Bush winning huge
margins in heavily Democratic areas. Republicans gained 128.45% over 2000 in counties using
optical scan machnes while Democrats had a –21% loss.

Newsweek

Nov. 3 issue - After the traumas of butterfly ballots and hanging chad, election officials are embracing a brave new ballot: sleek, touch-screen terminals known as direct recording electronic voting systems (DRE). States are starting to replace their Rube Goldbergesque technology with digital devices like the Diebold Accu-Vote voting terminal. Georgia uses Diebolds exclusively, and other states have spent millions on such machines, funded in part by the 2002 federal Help America Vote Act. Many more terminals are on the way.

A Florida Style Nightmare - North Carolina Citizens Demand Verified Voting Measures
North Carolina "has the worst election problem in the country RIGHT NOW according to Dr. David Dill of Stanford University. Election Officials bamboozled by slick claims of voting machine salesmen, salesmen failed to warn of flaws and limitations that caused disaster on November 2

Okay, folks. I think you've heard enough reality checks by now to know that we have a huge problem with our current voting system.

It is time to call for nationwide reform of the entire process. That means chucking the current electronic voting and going back to hand ballots and hand counting, the only real verifiable and auditable voting process. If you think that would be too hard, just consider that a voting precinct has no more than 2,000 voters for the most part....now how hard is it to count 2,000 ballots? Have we become so lazy that we have to have a machine when a handful of people can do the same thing for less money and fewer errors?

As a general contractor, when I'm building something I have to weigh the cost of using a mechanized method or old fashioned "man" power. Many times mechanized is quicker, but it can cost more money in the long run. When doing a simple task of moving 2,000 bricks from point a to point b, a fork lift makes it real easy, unless there is muddy ground. In all weather and all conditions, man power gets the job done. Machines get bogged down in many conditions, but man power, well, just add more people and it gets done. For thousands of years man power built houses and constructed everything. Sure, machines can make it faster and easier on our backs, but really, in regards to counting? Do I need a multi-thousand dollar machine to add up a couple thousand dots on a piece of paper? Especially when that machine can break down, miscalculate, or be tampered with? I can just hire a few people to do the same task and video tape and watch them count. Is that so hard? Will it take that much longer? Considering the thousands of errors made by machines, do we really want to continue using them for such a simple task? This isn't brain surgery, people....it isn't even math 101...it's kindergarden math, elementary school math...come on!

Mark 10:27 (NKJV) 27But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

redefeatbush has a problem with assertion #2.

The Feds deny telling Warren County any thing of the sort. Warren County has failed to provide evidence that they were told this. Since it only affected one county, it's still questionable, but does not indicate federal tampering with elections over local tampering with elections.

A disclaimer: the information attached or inserted in this thread has been written by many people with many points of view and I do not necessarily agree or verify their factuality or logic.

I think they were refering to the supposed terrorist threat on our elections broadcast by the Homeland Security Department. Seems that only this local bunch actually applied it this way...er at least that's the excuse they're using for closing the count from public scrutiny.

TUESDAY NOV 16 2004: Volusia County on lockdown
County election records just got put on lockdown

Dueling lawyers, election officials gnashing teeth, Votergate.tv film crew catching it all.

Here's what happened so far:

Friday Black Box Voting investigators Andy Stephenson and Kathleen Wynne popped in to ask for some records. They were rebuffed by an elections official named Denise. Bev Harris called on the cell phone from investigations in downstate Florida, and told Volusia County Elections Supervisor Deanie Lowe that Black Box Voting would be in to pick up the Nov. 2 Freedom of Information request, or would file for a hand recount. "No, Bev, please don't do that!" Lowe exclaimed. But this is the way it has to be, folks. Black Box Voting didn't back down.

ote Recount to Settle Doubts?

By Kim Zetter

A vote recount in New Hampshire on Thursday could shed light on anomalies with election results in that state, voting activists say. And if the recount finds problems with voting machines there, it could open the way for recounts in other states, such as Florida.

We are heading into the most polarized four years since the Civil War, no doubt about it, and the country is screwed.

And thus far, I don't see the Democrats doing much more than they have during the last four: kissing Republican ass.

Next election, don't reelect anybody, not even your mama!

UC Berkeley Research Team Sounds 'Smoke Alarm' for Florida E-Vote Count
Statistical Analysis - the Sole Method for Tracking E-Voting - Shows Irregularities May Have Awarded 130,000 - 260,000 or More Excess Votes to Bush in Florida
Research Team Calls for Investigation

BERKELEY, CA -- November 18 -- Today the University of California's Berkeley Quantitative Methods Research Team released a statistical study - the sole method available to monitor the accuracy of e- voting - reporting irregularities associated with electronic voting machines may have awarded 130,000-260,000 or more excess votes to President George W. Bush in Florida in the 2004 presidential election. The study shows an unexplained discrepancy between votes for President Bush in counties where electronic voting machines were used versus counties using traditional voting methods - what the team says can be deemed a "smoke alarm." Discrepancies this large or larger rarely arise by chance - the probability is less than 0.1 percent. The research team formally disclosed results of the study at a press conference today at the UC Berkeley Survey Research Center, where they called on Florida voting officials to investigate.

'Stinking Evidence' of Possible Election Fraud Found in Florida
by Thom Hartmann

There was something odd about the poll tapes.

A "poll tape" is the phrase used to describe a printout from an optical scan voting machine made the evening of an election, after the machine has read all the ballots and crunched the numbers on its internal computer. It shows the total results of the election in that location. The printout is signed by the polling officials present in that precinct/location, and then submitted to the county elections office as the official record of how the people in that particular precinct had voted. (Usually each location has only one single optical scanner/reader, and thus produces only one poll tape.)
