Or, it's Hyperion and you just refuse to acknowledge it.

Yeah, that's the good part - I almost always learn something in such threads.

There's also useful lessons in pathological argument styles and determined ignorance to be learned from the fools and trolls. You can recognize many of the same techniques being used in many political arguments today, including those instigated by certain anti-science groups in the news these days.

I remembered (thanks to Cuneiformist) that my family got into a discussion last night on how fast hummingbirds can fly specifically, ruby throated. Looked it up... I win.

Hey! Sometimes it isn't your fault if you do get run over.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Yes, it is quite hard to control automobiles when they are traveling over 60,000mph.

Edited cause the US refuses to use the metric system.

NO, if you do a triangulation from two points in 3D space, you can't locate your probe.

You should use 3 POINTS

What color is your tesseract?

Green, because it's not that easy.

See if this helps.

Since you love animations so much , it's even got pretty little moving bits:

I think I've got the problems in my sim worked out. From Centaur separation speed and altitude, I get Cassini falling back towards the Sun at 326:17:43:38.227, 292 million km from the Sun.

Actually, I think it's nearly the ugliest thing I've ever seen allegedly based upon space-type stuff. I would pay for copies of NASA photos. I wouldn't spit on your picture if it were on fire.
