Hey, Mab, if it makes you feel any better, my zombie just "missed" a barricade about 20 times in a row.

Ok, I'm going to try and head there. I've been looking for a safe place ever since Nichols Mall fell.

I tried heading North. BIG mistake. Zombies everwhere. It seems some whole cities are zombie controlled. Ever door of every building is flung wide open with usually 2 or 3 Z's inside. If you try to kill them and barricade, they know exactly where you're hiding. I found one place by chance with about 5 survivors in it. I popped over and barricaded a police station next door to full just to see how long it would stand. When I checked back the next morning, the barricades were gone and the doors were flung open again.

I've been trying to save up my AP's for one long dash out of this wasteland. We'll see how far I get, or even if my guy is still alive.

The reason is that the Mall Tour '06 will be headed there as their last tour location. So far, every mall the tour has gone after has fallen.

In a way, I hope all malls fall up till Craiger, at which point, thousands of survivors should come and make the final stand. The date, however, has not been set.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Ah, okay. Joachim mall didn't fall due to Mall Tour '06 action. I wonder if the tour plans on going there, anyway...

Whew. Well, made it to Caiger mall completely out of med kits, reviv. syringes, and ammo for anything but pistols. Time now to restock.

Great! Some blankety-blank named Fragile just PKed me while in Joachim Mall. NW corner.

A cookie to the first member of the Suburban Freedom Network to bring me his head, and a revive syringe.

I've got 20-something loaded shotguns waiting for his butt, too.

I was just PKed by "Apocalyps Killer". Bastard.
If anyone wants to revive me, I'm standing outside the Kind Building in Fryerbank. Hawks11's the name.

Are you a member of the SFN in the game, Hawks? Perhaps we should start keeping an "enemies list."

Bwahahaha!

My zombie character just got revived.

I took Brain Rot months ago. Seems that where I ended up last night, fighting another zed who attacked me first, is a Necrotech building. I log in tonight, see that some said something along the lines of, "just wait, zombies, we'll have a generator here in no time," and the next thing I see is that I've been revived. The people who did it, of course, had no way of knowing that the two zeds present were beating the tar out of each other.

Well, my zed began the game as a firefighter, so the first thing I did (I haven't even stood up yet) was to spend the 1,473 XP I'd stored up on human skills. I went from being a level-16 zombie to a level-30 civilian in under two minutes.

Bwahahahahaha!

(Now I've gotta wait to get up to full AP so I can go find a decent hidey-hole from which to stock up on weapons. I'm perfectly safe while I'm still a corpse.)

For any zombie hunters in the area, a few blocks around Burden Road Fire Station in Osmondville are target rich.

Edited to add that this thread appears as result #6 on a Google search for '"Urban Dead" suburbs.'

And the "shotgun" experiment is over. Starting with 25 fully-loaded shotguns, I hit 19 times for 10 damage, 18 times for 8 damage and missed 13 times. That's a 74% hit rate, so I obviously got lucky, even though my last four shots were misses. I managed to headshot eight zeds, for a bonus 80 XPs, so with just 50 shots, I generated 414 XPs, total, for an average of 8.28 XPs per attack.

Next up: 25 fully-loaded pistols. This will give me a 300-attack base from which to derive a hit percentage, so it ought to be more accurate.

Of course, now that I want to find nothing but pistols and pistol clips, they seem oddly scarce...

In police stations I find nothing but pistols. I seem to have better luck finding shotguns and shells in malls. Then again, this is probably just a perception thing.

Both Ackland and Calvert Mall are falling back to Caiger. 1500+ survivors in a 2 block radius of Caiger mall. Get there if you don't want to miss the action. The Mall Tour '06 should be at Caiger's walls by Sunday.
