I have no idea what the Masonic secret handshake is, because I'm not a Mason. My uncle, my Dad tells me, was a Master Mason, but he died when I was still an infant. I would not personally join such a fraternity, because they require a belief in a Creator, something I do not accept. (I'm also not a big fan of rituals in general, as they seem silly to me and remind me of obsessive-compulsive behavior.)

Even if he isn't a nazi (something you will note he still didn't deny, he just claimed his wife was jewish instead), he IS a crazy, perverted, mentally unstable, homophobic, fundie woman hater.

I doubt that Verlch really is anti-Semitic. I don't think his bias allows him to consider the implications of what he is saying. His anti-Semitic remarks stem from his willingness to believe any speculations that might confirm the existence of an Illuminati ruling the world. He doesn't see it as Jew hating. That would imply that he actually put two and two together and realized what he was saying. And since so far on these boards, he has never done that, why should we assume that he is doing it now?
Ultimately, I think Verch is a pretty simple guy, who like many of the simple guys I meet on job sites, lacks the tools to seriously evaluate the evidence for any of his beliefs. That Verlch is willing to shout his nonsense from the rooftops and on these pages is probably a symptom of his having a pretty serious inferiority complex. But I dunno, not being a shrink and all. In any case, I think some of us might have a tendency to give Verch way too much credit for what comes out of his mouth.
He is a guy, who like many others, is not comfortable with the complexity of life. He requires simple and pat answers, and like most conspiracy advocates, finds solace by reclaiming the power that he feels has been stolen from him by forces unknown. By assigning to a greater power, whether it be God or the Illuminati, control over the world, he simplifies all complexity to easy to understand answers. In that way, he can organize his thoughts about life into a few uncomplicated (even in there complexity) truths…

Personally, I'll go with my idea that if someone's ideology is indistinguishable from Nazism, he's a Nazi. His "Freemasonry-World Jewry" connection seems to spring directly from Mein Kampf, and in my opinion, the statements he made about Jews that I pointed to above do stoop to the level of anti-Semitism. And especially since he has made no effort to directly deny the accusation, I'm holding to it.
Having a Jewish spouse, or even Jewish ancestry, is no guarantee a person is tolerant toward Jews. Sadly, self-hatred sometimes comes into play. The man who killed American Nazi Party boss George Lincoln Rockwell was himself both a zealous member of that Party, and a Jew. There were one or two men of partial Jewish ancestry high in Hitler's Nazi Party, too. Convenient exceptions were made for them. It has been suggested, probably without good evidence, that Hitler himself may have had Jewish ancestors.
BTW, this was the first time I was ever "accused" of being a Mason. I suppose the implication that I'm a Mason, in his paranoid ignorance, carries a lot of negative emotional weight for verlch, but I was somewhat flattered. (I'd have been equally flattered to have been "accused" of being a Jew.)
The Masons have literally worked for centuries for separation of church and state, and support strong and secular public education. Through the Shriners, they have helped uncounted thousands of crippled children at absolutely no charge, in their first-rate Shriners Hospitals. I know one woman who would have been crippled as an adult, had her spine not been straightened by the Shriners Hospital in San Francisco.
There are far worse things to be accused of, other than being a Mason.

Ah, the "Stonecutters"! Wonderful episode. One part I recall is that in Stonecutters gatherings, the moronic Lenny gets to totally abuse his real-life boss, Montgomery Burns, because he outranks him in the Stonecutters.

Being one of those who would quite cheerfully smear rib grease and sauce upon the Sacred Parchment, I too liked the Stonecutters.
But lets get one thing straight: it makes not the least bit of difference to the ToE if Darwin's entire family, including himself, were Masons or Klansmen or Nazis or Republicans, or whelped by Ecentricia Gallumbits, the Triple-Breasted Whore of Erotica 5. It is still correct and the only thing that will change that is some very strong, empirical evidence; not mere verbiage, however strident it might be.
