Well, Lake Superior has the greatest surface area, but Lake Baikal has by far the most volume. So one lake just don't cut it in both categories.

Well, what I wrote would be accurate for freshwater lakes. So, I guess it boils down to how one defines a "lake."

Glad you enjoyed it. The soapster was one of the truly great con artists, and one of my all-time favorites. His soap scam was a classic, and showed a prodigious understanding of human nature.
