Museum of Broadcast Communications has announced it will induct insane bigot James Dobson into its Radio Hall of Fame. OK, so its just some podunk museum in Chicago run by a knucklehead with delusions of grandeur, but still, the only hall of fame Dobson belongs in is the Hitler Admiration Society's.

Dobson is such a preposterous clown, I don't know if serious time should be devoted to him. The man is fully as much of a caricature as Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson ever pretended to be.
Do you think he is truly capable of doing a great deal of harm to rationality? |

I am not sure... While Dobson's views are very unpleasant to me; his influence seems quite significant. He is, indeed, famous.
And the museum is called the 'hall of fame', not the 'hall of honour' or the 'hall of good guys' and he probably deserves a place in it... |

I think Dobson is an enemy of rationality, and seems to have some political clout. I just think we should take the oppotunity to make our voices heard in whatever way we can. I don't think the minute or so it takes to read the web page and sign the petition is wasted. Even if it just turns out we are tweaking his odious nose, I think its worthwhile speaking up. A clown like Dobson deserves no honor, no matter how trivial. |
