Hmmm... Yes, of course. Why not Jackson, if Elvis did it...

Not "if". Elvis DID.

I guess it is supposed to be a picture of Elvis, taken after his death.

Of course, a) We don't know that it was taken after his death.
b) We don't know that it is Elvis. Especially as the picture is of poor quality. Even then, it could only be a look-alike. I think to remember Elvis coming from a large family, one could imagine a brother of him looking quite similar.
c) If anything, the picture does actually look like Elvis in his prime, not Elvis at the time of his death when he was severely overweight. The person on the picture does not seem that overweight to me, although it is difficult to know, the picture being of such bad quality.

My official verdict is that I remain unconvinced.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Perhaps, but why is Mary peering through the glass while lying on the floor? I think I liked her better burned into the stale sandwich.

Holy shit!

Michael Jackson's death has lifted a veil on the sinister underbelly of fame, with associates of the pop icon hitting out at celebrity-dazzled doctors who funnel powerful narcotics to the stars.

Jackson, who died Thursday aged 50 after collapsing at his home in Beverly Hills, had a long history of prescription drug use, stretching back to 1993 when allegations of child abuse were leveled at him.

Reports that Jackson had been injected with a powerful painkiller by a personal physician shortly before his death triggered speculation that the star had a ready supply of prescription medications. Days after his death, reports indicated that Jackson took a daily cocktail of Demerol, Vistaril, Soma, Dilaudid, Vicodin, Zoloft, Prilosec, Paxil and Xanax.

Further autopsy results are expected in six weeks. The first evaluation of Jackson's remains did not indicate any foul play or illness. His family said on Saturday they may seek a second autopsy to answer lingering questions about the pop star's death.

I don't think there are very many "lingering questions." Jackson was killed by his physicians.

The toxicology report is what's going to take four-to-six weeks.

Yeh, and I suspect it'll be a doozy! If this article is anything like accurate, he had doctors all over Hollywood prescribing for him. The human body simply has not yet evolved to handle that much modern chemistry on a daily basis.

At the risk of sounding redundant: Holy shit!

Demerol is the only drug on that list that I've had administered, and that was while in a hospital bed recovering from a laparotomy (medical-talk for lap removal). Demerol is a very serious opiate. I can't imagine a person trying to to carry on a "normal" life while stewed to the gills with a Samuel Taylor Coleridge-class opiate like Demerol, let alone that cocktail of antidepressants and such.

CNN.com has been little but a Michael Jackson commemorative site for these last several days. CNN and other "news" outfits have given the hardliners in Iran an unearned respite from serious world coverage of their repression as a result.

People should come to grips with the fact that Michael Jackson, whatever his talents, was a seriously deranged man, who for a very long time was a severe danger not only to himself, but to innocent young children. News coverage hasn't helped, but they soon will be focusing on all Jackson's woes and foibles just as whorishly as they have been hailing his genius for days. After all, what is news these days, if not entertainment?

If so, that just goes to show the inherent difficulty of humor.

No, you just missed the part where he paid the family of a young boy millions of dollars to keep quiet and go away after molesting him.
