That old creationist hideout, uncommon descent, is usually shock full of posts by people who are both philosophically and scientifically naive (to put it nicely). One of their more prolific posters is Denyse O'Leary, a self-appointed journalist who knows about as much about stringing sentences togeather as she knows about doing background research for her "articles". In her latest screed she comments about the new Darwin movie (Creation) not doing so well. If she had done a bit of fact checking, she'd know that the movie didn't have a US distributor, which would explain bad sales. She'd also know that the movie now has a US distributor. All this is a fairly minor point, but then she, for some reason, adds:

Fact: In North America, you cannot legally line up people at gun point and force them to watch some propaganda film worshipping Darwin – or worshipping anything – and threaten to shoot or otherwise punish them if they say they do not believe it. If that is not the law where you live, please hold a revolution now.

Rrrrright. She then continues:

As a traditional Canadian, I am not a fan of revolution in general. Nature is our vast antagonist, not man. Check a map. But in some places maybe people need a revolution, to get the point across that there are some areas government must not infringe, including freedom of religion and freedom of media. (We have big problems with that just now, but we are getting the message across.)

Insane spring to mind. So does "with friends like these, who needs enemies". So does: the people who let her tun loose at UD (i.e. Bill Dembski) must also be insane.

As a Canadian, I want to know what a "traditional Canadian" is.

As a recent immigrant to Canada (you just reminded me to update my profile), I'd also be keen to know. I am also happy in the knowledge that Denyse lives far from me.

I would have guessed an Inuit, but then I don't want to insult Inuits by associating them with Denyse O'Leary.

On behalf of Canada, I apologize. Her blog is the expected pile of drivel, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be set up to accept comments so that particular avenue of pleasure is closed off.
