After quitting her last job without giving the traditional two-year notice, Sarah Palin has found a new employer which is willing to overlook such minutiae:
Sarah Palin to Contribute to Fox News

By JIM RUTENBERG

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin would appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multiyear deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person with knowledge of the deal said, though she will host a series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L. North is the host of an occasionally running documentary series on the military called “War Stories.”

Many suspected that when Ms. Palin retired as the governor of Alaska last summer she was doing so to pursue some sort of career in television. The Fox News deal, however, would not seem to be all-encompassing, and would appear to give her room for other pursuits, as well.

Biology is just physics that has begun to smell bad.” —HalfMooner

Y'blew it, 'mooner. That's surreal enough to go in Moonscape News!

But I'm not all that surprised; she and FOX fit together like a rat flea and Yersinia pestis.

'Tis a match conceived in a bilge; may it be a lasting one.

I actually question this one a bit. Most Fox personalities have some significant experience in, you know, putting together strings of arguments that are at least coherent in an unscripted setting. Say what you will about Glenn Beck or whomever, he has years of experience just talking on radio. Palin has virtually none, and when she has just gabbed for a bit, well, she's pretty horrible. I have to imagine that her hosting a one-hour TV program along the same lines as Beck or Hannity would be a true train-wreck.

Her history has shown that she doesn't at times answer the question asked. She should be able to stay on script regardless.

Palin could read the New York phone book aloud in twenty-four hour episodes on Fox News, and her adoring audience would genuflect and give her their rapt attention. The cretins that swallow the horsecrap of O'Reilly, Beck, Hannity & Company are incapable of recognizing the vacuous ignorance and corrosive chutzpah that she displays every time she opens her professionally painted lips and shakes her booty.

Sarah and Faux belong together like maggots and carrion. Murdoch's fraudulent "news" cable network will be a perfect platform for La Painin's preposterous homilies and utter absence of basic adult walking-around knowlege.

"The Folks" will worship her and, together with the corybantic Glenn Beck, the seething Sean Hannity and the oligomanic Bill O'Reilly, we will have the perfect shit storm of a team of splenetic lying lunatics leading an army of ignorant imbeciles - the New Conservative Party!

One can only hope that the Teabaggers bite the nut, so to speak; and nominate Sarah for President and Beck for VP in 2012! The Perfect Storm would morph into a tornadic giant sucking sound as the whole damn Republican establishment went down the toilet!

Reminded me of a recent "Worst Persons" segment:

http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/countdown-history-no-obstacle-roves-smears

The bronze went to Roger Ailes and referred to conservative commentator Rachel Marsden's efforts to market a prospective novel called "The Voice of America". One excerpt from the novel might give some (perhaps unintentional?) insight into the hiring process:

"...I was a 'talking head'. I'm not a big fan of the term. 'Talking head' implies the presence of a brain, which isn't always the case. The American cable news network from which I was sprung mostly selected their female talking heads for their *****s and legs. I guess nicknaming them 'talking *****s' or 'talking legs' would be overdoing the obvious. It would also totally bust the trailer trash viewing majority who watch the network as the closest thing their old lady will allow them to get to porn..."

I have a feeling that FOX should be a mite cautious in their dealings with their shiny new Sarah. Her history shows that she is strictly out for #1 and will happily step on anything that gets in her way, as the McCain campaign. et al., found out to their dismay. If she has ever shown any real loyalty to anything but her own ends, I have yet to perceive it. That includes her strange, little church.

Oh, this could turn out to be such fun! FOX thinks they're getting a popular set of T&A to show off to the morons and Sarah thinks she's getting another rung up the ladder. In reality, the bosom they are about to clasp unto their bosoms is an asp with the potential to bite quite painfully. On the other hand, said asp is blithely slithering into a nest of vipers just as cut-throat as she.

I have stopped following her antics due to the disgust factor. I'll start following them again for the schadenfreude.

Well, I guess my point here is that I'm numbly suggesting that you may be wrong here. People like Beck and O'Reilly have had years of experience talking to make a living. Palin hasn't.

Go listen to a call-in radio show for awhile and compare the quality of the conversation of the call-in people to that of the radio host. And then compare the quality of the conversation of the radio host of a small-time program to that of a nationally syndicated program. It should be apparent after a few minutes that there's a reason that the nationally syndicated person has that job, and the yokel doing the calling in doesn't. In fact, this is why I don't listen to call-in radio. It's simply painful (to me) to listen to random people call in and stumble and bumble trying to make some poorly thought-out argument or point.

Say what you will about what Beck has to say, he certainly has a skill in delivering his message. Palin, when speaking without a script, has little skill. That's fine in politics, but if she's going to try to host a regular program similar to what, say, Hannity has, I can't imagine that it would have any success.

I could be wrong, but if I am then this country is in worse shape than I thought.

Palin will not be doing any unscripted TV, there is no way in Hell she will be doing anything other than reading for some joke of a 'docu-segment'

Yeah, just heard a short news blurb on the radio about it, and it said she'd have a job as a "commentator", so yes-- she'll likely just do scripted things. Too bad-- the train wreck would have been fun... for a little bit.

And how long do you think she'll be content with that? The woman possesses an ambition as strong as any of the Ceasars and the ruthlessness to pursue it. It's potentially a marriage made in catastrophy, which, FOX thinks, is right up their teabaggin' alley and be damned to all ridicule.

I'm loving it!
