Obviously this super-wanker knows nothing about farming and even less about migrant workers.

NY candidate Jack Davis: Bus blacks to farms to pick crops

By Eric W. Dolan
Thursday, March 17th, 2011 -- 4:03 pm

Congressional candidate Jack Davis said in a Republican Party endorsement meeting that Latino farmworkers should be deported and that inner-city African-Americans should be bused to farms to pick crops.

Several sources who attended the endorsement interview confirmed Davis' statement to Buffalo News.

The remark echoes a similar comment he made to the Tonawanda News in 2008.

"We have a huge unemployment problem with black youth in our cities," Davis said. "Put them on buses, take them out there and pay them a decent wage; they will work."

Fortunately, it looks like he has little chance of being elected, even as a teabagger.

But I have questions: What would Mr. Davis consider a "decent wage" and who's gonna pay for the busses? And how does he propose to get the inner-city folks on them? And how will he avoid traffic jams as they haul out of the cities? And does he have any idea of how many migrant workers it takes to pick those crops? Also, does he realize that picking is not entirely unskilled? You have to know how to prime tobbacco and during the season, no one has the time to teach you.

And the migrants do a lot more than just pick. Depending on the farm, they also tend the crops from planting to harvest, more labor being brought in at picking time. This is usually arrainged for in advance, and many workers have a long-term relationship with their temporary employers.

I guess it's not enough for Davis to have the economy destroyed, but he wants to trash the food supply as well.

Shit, this proposal is so lame, maybe I should 'a put it in Humor.

Anyone that thinks farm labor is unskilled (except as officially defined) ought to try working dawn to dusk alongside such workers. I have, and found it incredibly difficult and exhausting work, and found myself only a tiny fraction as efficient at it compared to real farm workers. There were little Latino kids in the field that were far better than I was at that work, and I was a healthy, muscled young man just out of the Navy.

Farm work is grindingly hard labor for little pay. It's not something that hardly any urban youth -- while, black, well-off or poor -- would try more than once, if that. Jack Davis is a wanker, an ignoramus, and an idiot. All he really knows is that he doesn't like "Furriners" -- or African American youths.

I've never primed tobbacco, but I've picked cotton. Talk about a back-breaker! Each bag brought in is weighed and credited to the picker, and they get paid by the pound. Those guys are fast! They have to be or they'll starve.

I grew up in the sharecropping South, GA and FL, and many of my earliest friends were sharecropper kids, I used to help them out in their home gardens, where learned to plough with a mule. That's mostly why I find Davis' verbal wank insane to the point of hysterical. The fool simply has no clue and I wonder that he has the ability to blow his nose without losing the miniscule remains of his brains.
