So this is what living in a "battleground state" is like...
I live in North Carolina. We get 2-3 robo calls a day, all for Romney. I have only been called by a live human a couple of time, but that has been a while. Late August I think.

I don't have any trust for the electronic voting machines used in any state including key states like Florida and Ohio.

A baby programer can write the code to rig the totals and there are laws prohibiting any examination of the code by anyone not from the company who built them, even election officials are not permitted to examine the coding by these laws from what I understand. I have no reason to believe thus I have no faith in the integrity of America's voting system, at all. I will really be surprised if Romney doesn't win or if the Keystone Pipeline doesn't get built no matter who wins.

As I'd predicted at the time Seal Team 6 got Osama Bin Laden, President Obama was reelected for his second term. I see the electoral votes as going 270 332 for Obama, 206 for Romney. I expect that once all the votes are counted, Obama will have at least a narrow lead.

The GOP held the House of Representatives, but their hopes of taking the Senate were dashed by blundering Teabagger candidates who made insane statements that infuriated female voters. President Obama's campaign was much stronger than had appeared on the surface, due to strong volunteer canvassing on the ground in battleground states.

The lineup in Congress and the Executive branch remains essentially unchanged, and deadlocked.

Perhaps the most significant lesson coming from this election is that the GOP lost both the Presidency and the Senate due to the influence of the amateurish and fanatical Teabaggers. There will now commence political bloodshed for control of the GOP, with the future relevance of the Republican Party in the balance.

Okay, if FOX News is unquestioningly calling the election for Obama, that means it's the real deal, right?

Well, except that FOX is also making a big deal about how more than 40 minutes after people began saying that it's all over, Romney hasn't hinted even a little about making a concession speech. The commentators are saying things like, "maybe he sees something that we don't."

The good news? Maybe now we'll have a chance to see some of the predictions made by those paranoid fucktards fall apart when Obama does none of those things, and maybe people will start to see people like Farah, et al for the nutcases that they are?

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Yeah, and watch the fireworks as the Paleocons and moderates try to reclaim the GOP from the Teabaggers. I hereby predict that fight will get physically violent at times. I have no idea who will win, but here are the options as I see them:

1. Teabaggers win. The GOP continues to fade away.

2. Paleocon/moderate coalition tosses the Teabaggers out of power in the party. The GOP begins to recover.

3. No victors. Amid the fighting, the GOP begins an accelerating death spiral.

Someone on FOX is actually saying that it's "not fair" that Romney hasn't given up, because people are going to bed right now without hearing the "I know we said some nasty things during the campaign, but now it's time to get together and solve the problems faced by the nation" speeches that "we all need to hear" after this brutal past year or so.

No one is more pleasantly surprised than me. I'm still waiting to hear about Prop 37 but I'm more hopeful. Now they're saying,,,, who cares there a lot of good news from today's election. The US just elected it's first openly gay Senator, Yeessss. Romney prayed for God to bless America and apparently God has. Democrats gained seats in congress. Maine passed the country's first voter approved equal marriage bill. And there's more that passed in other states. It's hard to believe.

It's very weird to me to be watching the late-night election results in the middle of a Philippine day. It's convenient, though.

Wow! Those propositions are important! That cheers me up even more! The Unite States remains greatly divided. But key demographics like voting by young people show changes are coming.

And the most-important question of all: Marylanders have officially approved an expansion of gambling.

And they also approved of same-sex marriage, but who cares about that when they can throw more money at casinos now?

Sarcasm aside, the gay marriage stuff is big. Between Maryland and Maine, no longer will the bigots be able to truthfully say, "everywhere it's been on the ballot, it has been rejected by voters."

And Colorado has just become the first state to have voter-approved recreational marijuana possession, use and taxation. Washington state, second. Oregon, however, rejected it.

Romney finally called Obama to concede. And he's about to make his speech. Maybe. FOX News is showing side-by-side empty stages.
