Anyone remember from a year or so back when some WND nutbar said that those who vandalized an atheist billboard where "her kind of vandals"?

Well, it seems to have happened again:

In West Milford, New Jersey, American Atheists had this billboard put up after city officials said they would allow holiday displays from any religious group on government property:

After it was put up, City Councilman Joseph Smolinski said he would look the other way if anyone tried to vandalize or steal the atheist banner:

… Smolinski was adamant that the [atheist banner] be taken down in spite of any legal implications, adding that he was surprised no individual acted alone to remove it from municipal property. Smolinski said he, for one, would turn the other cheek if they did.

Guess what happened?

The banner was destroyed yesterday morning:

Details follow in the linked article.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Don't let this get you down Iggy. Cheer up! there are victories out there. This can't be corrected everywhere overnight but victories are occurring and we have every reason to believe they will continue in the coming years.

Anytime Dr. Mabuse, I thought so too. This issue simply comes down to this, IMO.

Using public spaces and tax revenue to promote one specific religion is in fact ILLEGAL as ruled by the courts in America and has nothing to do with restricting Christians' free speech, as their deceitful pathetic whining would have us believe. If the "Santa Monica Nativity Scenes Committee" wishes to have their display let them put it up on their own private property and pay for it all themselves. Without having people whom they publicly hate, slander, defame and vilify pay for part of it. That the law supports and protects. If they had a fraction of the morality superiority they claim to possess one would think they would never accept monies from those they view as such extreme moral inferiors. Their willingness with accept money from such a tainted source spotlights their unbounded hypocrisy. If they were at all capable of being honest or had any real sincerity in their beliefs they would be willing to pay for it themselves rather than include monies from such vermin and immoral citizens such as Atheists, LBGT's or believers of other religious beliefs unlike their own.

Interesting that the town I live in, which is known to some as The Peoples Republic of Santa Monica would turn out to be ground zero in the war against the promotion of religion in public places. This is not exactly the bible belt, and Santa Monica is a very blue city in a blue state.

Go figure...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?
