This Nobel Peace Prize nominee is making some really outrageous claims (via unknown sources). He sounds a like the typical conspiracy theorist, but his history seems okay. (Maybe it's not, I don't know, but I guess otherwise reasonable conspiracy theorists have to start somewhere.)

Oh hell, this guy's a mess: he also ascribes the title "Dr." to himself due to an honorary doctorate from a non-accredited theology school in North Carolina.

Think of all the other theists who will and are drinking his cool aid and will serve it up to other gullibles insistently. Yummy!! It's what they're all about, God is moral and the proof of that and his existence is right there in the bible. Just pick out the parts that show it while ignoring the multitude of contradictions. What more proof does anyone need? Along with proof of the 6000 y/o earth and as far as they're concerned your the idiot for ignoring their demonstrable made up reality. It's not called "BLIND FAITH" for nothing.  |

I appreciate the tug on my leash OregonYankee, goodness knows I have crossed the line now and them on this forum. However not this time. If you thought I meant "all" as in 100% all Christians you read me wrong. I said "all" as in there are way to many theists who believe in young earth creationism and I said "theist" not Christians. Are you aware that there are Jews who also take the Bible literally and are young earth creationists? It's true!
If you still think I manufactured anything call me on it, again. I'd like to know. And welcome to the forum, it's always nice to have new blood posting. |

46% of Americans seem to be YECs by Gallup, which increases to 67% for weekly church attendees, so it's definitely not anywhere nearly as far out as Garrow's fringe.
I'm pretty sure the non-regular-church-attending people having 25% taking this view would imply it's believed by more than half of American Christians, and the 50% threshold is probably cleared even under worst case sampling error (+/- 4%). |
